Online Café Rules

Please consider whether your topic would be more appropriate in the issues forums and make an effort to see if a relevant topic already exists. Be considerate of other members who may have started a similar or related topic and just reply. This keeps things organized and is more in the spirit of this community.

The moderators are spending a lot of time moving topics that are better suited for issues discussions or merging identical or similar topics. Besides the obvious time consuming drawbacks to this, there is another incentive for posters to consider taking the discussion to the issues section: if you start your topics in the issues forums, they are less likely to be pushed further down or off the first page or archived without much discussion; and if you reply to an existing topic instead of starting a new one that will bring that topic to the top.

Inactive topics in the Online Café stay on the active message board no longer than 24 hours. Topics will be archived as necessary.

We promote a civil tone of discussion. Select language that is kind and respectful of others, even if you don't agree with their viewpoint or thoughts. Although our rules cannot specify every type of uncivil post, this does not imply that the administrators approve of disrespectful behavior. Please refrain from labeling members as "trolls" or deriding others for their party affiliation. Please contact a moderator if you feel that a member is being uncivil or breaking the meeting rules, rather than responding in kind.
