April 28, 2009 Amazingly, Specter has found yet another way to walk all over the people who have helped him during his entire political career. More |

Remembering Spector
April 28, 2009 I remember Specter from almost 40 years ago when he was Philadelphia D.A. and my client Jock Yablonski, his wife and daughter were murdered in their beds and we knew the coal miners' union was behind it. More |

Specter Reads the Writing on the Wall This will be all over the news, of course, but I can’t resist putting it up. Fascinating and truly, truly important. Heute Specter, Morgen die Franken, as Hitler used to say. Well, something like that anyway.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Veteran Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter told colleagues Tuesday that he switched from the Republican to the Democratic Party, Sen. Harry Reid says. The Specter party switch would give Democrats a filibuster-proof Senate majority of 60 seats if Al Franken holds his current lead in the disputed Minnesota Senate race. ![]() Posted by Jerome Doolittle |

Will Snowe Follow Specter? The conversion of Senator Magic Bullet may turn Mitch to mulch; at least we can hope. And Specter may not be the only one to move. Consider this quote from the Times report:
“On the national level of the Republican Party, we haven’t certainly heard warm, encouraging words about how they view moderates, either you are with us or against us,” [Maine Senator Olympia] Snowe said. She said national Republican leaders were not grasping that “political diversity makes a party stronger and ultimately we are heading to having the smallest political tent in history for any political party the way things are unfolding.” Posted by Chuck Dupree |
