Specter starts chemotherapy regimen - Activists wish him well, remind him of judicial promise
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Arlen Specter, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, began chemotherapy for Hodgkin's disease Friday morning in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while dozens of conservative activists delivered get-well cards to his Washington office. The activists, who are attending the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, also brought a signed letter for the Pennsylvania Republican, urging him to use his chairmanship to overcome Democratic opposition to President Bush's judicial nominees. The cards contained the message, "Get well Senator Specter, so you can confirm our judges!" The letter said, in part, "the federal judicial nominations process has devolved into nothing short of political purgatory for nominees, which can only be detrimental to the federal judiciary. 'Advise and consent' has become 'obstruct and destroy.'" Specter's chief of staff, David Brog, accepted the letter and the cards, and met with the conservative group privately for about 10 minutes Friday afternoon. QUOTE(rox63 @ Feb 19 2005, 06:07 AM) You ask "How low can they go?" Lower than we can imagine. I put nothing past this bunch of hypocritical fascist extremists. Reminds me of the story about Newty Patootie Gingrich pushing his first wife to sign divorce papers while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer-related surgery. Seems he's divorced his second wife too. Apparently he had an affair while still married to wife #2. Guess ol' Newt didn't destroy enough same-sex marriages to save his own. -------------------- "No one man can terrorize a whole nation unless we are all his accomplices."

If he does die before he can confirm those judges these same people will probably want to deny him a decent Christian burial and posthumously destroy his reputation.
