The army is having difficulty filling front-line combat positions.
Women are serving as soldiers in the front, but generally in support functions (logistics and such). There is a directive that prevents them from serving in combat divisions (the details have been published here before).
The argument is not women are not capable, rather if a soldier is wounded, women, in general, do not have the upper body strength of men, and cannot effectively evacuate the wounded. This jeopardizes both parties.
The army is very quitetly training and will soon start deploying women into combat positions. This techincally requires advice and consent of Congress, but that has yet to happen.
I know this is not directly related to the AI information, but it is another angle.
Keep your eyes open for Congressional testimony for the roll of women in combat.

Non Flash Version I know a lot of civilians die during war, but 75% seems high. Do you have a source for that? I'd like to check it out.
