Seeking GOP Post, Sununu Says Dems Ruining NH
Former Governor Seeks Chairmanship Of State GOP

CONCORD, N.H. -- After keeping a low profile for almost two decades, former Gov. John H. Sununu said he wants to be the next chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party.
Sununu told the New Hampshire Sunday News that current chairman Fergus Cullun did an excellent job during a difficult time for Republicans but it's clear that many want a more recognizable name to pull the party together. He said Democrats are ruining New Hampshire and that he'll speak out for low taxes, local control, community involvement and individual rights.
Republicans took a beating in last month's elections, including Sununu's son, who lost his Senate seat to former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen.
Cullen said he will not seek another term and backs Sununu.
