Hope she gets it.

She is the best candidate for NY

She can bring more back to NY than any of the other losers mentioned, and she can easily fundraise for 2010 and 2012 race.

Now let's win it for Teddy.

She can get this on her resume, then be a viable VP candidate for 2012 for Obama, and Caroline can become the first woman president in 2016.

Now let's win it for Teddy.

In Teddy I trust.

Caroline's in (updated)

Two New York Democrat said Monday that Caroline Kennedy has begun making calls to New York officials to officially express her interest in replacing Hillary Clinton in the United States Senate.

The New York Times first reported that Kennedy, the daugther of President John F. Kennedy, is formally seeking Hillary's seat.

Her move raises the pressure on New York Governor David Paterson either to choose her or to select someone else soon, as Kennedy's rivals for the seat have already begun to respond to the possibility of her entrance by raising questions about her qualifications and her role in defeating Clinton. But she's a close ally of President-elect Barack Obama, and Paterson is not particularly indebted to the Clintons.

She's also reportedly hired a political consultant, Josh Isay, close to Chuck Schumer; his presence indicates that Schumer -- a key player here -- at least doesn't object to Kennedy's bid.

Paterson responded today to the news of Kennedy's entry by suggesting she wouldn't get special treatment.

"I've had a number of conversations with a number of people who are interested," he said. "I have returned a couple of calls from her but have not spoken to her since the initial conversation. Obviously people are interested and would like to come in and present their case, and if they ask for that time I'll grant it to them."
