I wonder if anyone realizes this:

When you go to apply for a job, the company wants to run a check on the applicant. That's not a problem. But, because women take their husbands name, a woman's credit report contains multiple names. Men's do not. So, when looking at a woman's report, a potential employer can tell if you have been married, not been married, and how many times you've been married. A man's report will not show this.

The only way a man's name will change is if he's been adopted.

My birth name is different than my adopted name...And somehow, that is on my credit report too. I'm not sure how that happens if I never used it as an adult, and I didn't. Also, rather odd misspellings are there too, which could happen to a man, but I know of no way to correct that.

I think this is a kind of systemic discrimination though, and there should be some way to remedy this situation.

Any thoughts?
