And your wife is in the grocery business, to boot ....
WHAT ON EARTH IS UP WITH BEN & JERRY'S VANILLA ICE CREAM?
I haven't been able to get any for well over a week now ....
It is like it totally disappeared from the face of the earth up here where I am ....
Is there some kind of conspiracy going on here, or what?
A bidding war, maybe ....
The Chinese are willing to pay a higher price for it than we are, because they have all the money, so it is all going over there?
Or are speculators buying it up, do you think, in an effort to bid the price up?
Gouge those of us who have depended on a steady supply of BEN & JERRY'S VANILLA ICE CREAM to get us through the dog days?
Or could it be spite?
You know a lot of things about a lot of things, rla ....

"Study finds prime time on the Internet is 11 p.m." By PETER SVENSSON, AP Technology Writer
Wed Sep 2, 2009 3:48PM EDT
NEW YORK - It's 11 p.m.
Do you know where your neighbors are?
Chances are they're online. According to a study, North Americans have been staying up late to do their Internet surfing this summer, so late that the peak usage for the whole day has been at 11 p.m. Eastern time.
That appears to be a shift from previous years, when most Internet activity was in the daytime.
The new study by Chelmsford, Mass.-based Internet security firm Arbor Networks found that people using the Internet at work and school produce a smaller traffic peak around 4 p.m. Eastern time on weekdays.
Internet activity then declines as people head home.
At 8 p.m. Eastern, U.S. and Canadian home Internet traffic starts spiking, and stays surprisingly strong past midnight, Arbor found.
At 2 a.m. Eastern, overall traffic is as high as it is at 9 a.m., when people are logging in at work.Of course, 11 p.m. Eastern time is just 8 p.m. on the West Coast.
But the Eastern and Central time zones account for three-quarters of the U.S. population, so it's clear there's lot of late-night traffic. It also seems North Americans are staying up much later on the Internet than Europeans.
Their traffic peaks when it's 9 p.m. in Western and Central Europe, and then drops sharply.
So what is it that keeps us up at night?
Internet video, including both YouTube and pornography, appears to be a big part of the answer, according to Arbor's Craig Labovitz.
Video usage peaks at midnight Eastern, later than any other traffic.
Gaming is another big evening activity, but one that's most intense between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern, coinciding with TV's prime time for most Americans.
Labovitz found a jump in gaming traffic at exactly 8 p.m. Eastern, and speculates that it's caused by "World of Warcraft" players who prearrange to get together at that time to tackle virtual monsters.
Arbor gathers data from Internet service providers that account for about half of North American traffic.
The study looked at 10 weekdays in July.
Labovitz said there was a chance that children on summer vacation could be affecting the numbers, and plans to keep watching traffic patterns in different seasons.

and I talked to the coke guy and the pepsi guy

anyhow, after I kept asking, wehre is it, it turns out that soon as its delivered, a few workers in the store put it aside for themselves each and every time, (the 12 can packs, the ones that each week are on sale, one week coke, one pepsi).
so the workers though it was as good as I did, and took it before any customer even knew its there

It was not the head of Ben & Jerry that my wife was speaking to. It was the head of the Grocery Chain that she
works for and his assurances only applied to the stores of that chain. Apparently you've been going to the wrong store.

You're a veritable prince, rla ....
Thanks for doing all of that research and getting back to us poor beleaguereds up here in NYS who are presently without B&J's vanilla ice cream ....
And I am glad that you straightened that out who your wife was getting her information from on the matter before I had a swarm of real nasty lawyers all over that poor B&J dude, along with crowds of protestors bussed in for the occasion ...
Do you think that maybe it is some kind of plot involving your wife's grocery store chain?
They outbid all the other grocery chains and now have a lock on the market?
Or could it be political?
If you want B&J's vanilla ice cream, well, folks, you are now going to have to pay a visit to Arkansas to get some ....
Or maybe the corporate bean counters at B&J's just made a unilateral decision to stop stocking vanilla ice cream up here because some statistical study said that the usage and consumption of vanilla ice cream in the northeast fell off around Labor Day, so they gave out an order to stop sending us any up here as a cost-cutting move on their part ....
Whatever, rla, IT IS TRAUMATIZING!

I was thinking that if bigtom can send up Bubba's corporate jet for graham the next time bigtom does a concert gig at Bubba's place that I could hitch a ride and we could stop in Arkansas on the way back and I could grab a couple of crates of B&J's vanilla from your wife to tide me over ....

Maybe it comes from being conditioned or programmed by Bugs Bunny ....
I never saw Bugs Bunny eat an apple, or even give a hint that he would consider eating an apple if one was ever offered to him, or if he found one on the ground, somewhere ....

my 2 indoor cats watch the squirrrels and are fascinated
for a while in the spring we had a neighbors outdoor cat come to the stoop and play there for a while
my indoor cats got very selfish
I told them it was their cousin come to visit
and they seemed to understand
had thoughts of letting the cat in, but commonsense prevailed
once summer came the owners stopped letting that cat out
mine have never been outdoors, and neither seems to care

Fr 9/11: Michael Douglas, Leighton Meester, Kid Cudi
I mean, Tony Blair, first the arse kissing Clintonite, who then morphed into the arse kissing Bushite is appearing on David Letterman
I have to ask- WHY???
but look at Wednesday-

I mean, what a booking.
Jay Z will be first guest

George Jones, who like Teddy Kennedy battled and conquered his demons with the help of a later wife
