During the 1998 World Cup I took an interest in soccer...when France won the title with Zinedine Zidane...

I thought it was incredible that they won the World Cup as a host country.

In 2000 they won the European Cup...and I cheered for them...

In 2002, I was cheering for the German and French teams for various reasons and became a bigger fan...and in 2006 I cheered for the German and French teams and was disappointed the Germans lost to the Italians in the semis because they could have faced France...

I was disappointed in Zidane's head butt...an awful way to end a brilliant football career...and from that match I became an Italian fan as well...

Recently (2008) I became a Bayern Munich fan because they had much of the German national team on their team...and Frank Ribery from the French team and Luca Toni from the Italian team as well as stellar Dutch, Belgian, Argentine and Brazilian team members...

I also like Chelsea because the German national team captain is on the team, Michael Ballack...

And I like the Sunderland team because they are the black cats and I had a black cat I was quite fond of...

Having visited Madrid in 2003, I became a Real Madrid fan as well.

I wonder if any of you all like football...as well.

I guess not... biggrin.gif

Also, I like AC Milan...

Zambrotta, Pirlo, Kaka, Seedorf, Flamini, Ambrosini etc, etc.

Oh, and David Beckham as well.

An excellent team and another underdog...compared to Inter Milan this year...

So, I guess no one saw the ridiculous display that was Barcelona vs. Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The refereeing was atrocious.

Three penalty kicks denied to Chelsea.

A Barca player sent off for a minor foul.

Pathetic.

Season ending in Europe...and just getting started in the US...

Anyone ready for Beckham's return?

I am sorry I never got to see a Cosmos game...

Indeed soccer is "the beautiful game".

Non-stop...for two 45 minute halves...

Constant action.

Incredible ball handling.

Great strategy.

And fun personalities.

So Wolfsburg ended up on top...

Bayern Munich finished second in the Bundesliga...

The US lost to Costa Rica...3-1 in World Cup play....

Barca beat Man U...for the Champions League final...2-0....
