Why Are We Lying to Ourselves About Our Catastrophic Economic Meltdown?

Why is the meltdown deemed "catastrophic"?

We have known for years that we cannot continue to grow at the expense of the earth's capacity to absorb our waste. Now is a good time to start getting used to building an economy that grows by using the earth LESS.

Less oil.

Less ore.

Less water.

Less wood.

More intelligence.

More communication.

More research.

More care giving.

This can happen here. All it takes is the desire to do it.

because good times are ahead

and people can be happy with less

Remember, in the 50s and 60s we used to duck under our desks at school or go to fallout shelters
we got past that too

remember, the Joad family was happy and loving with each other

Greed is a baby boomer and after phenom

there is nothing dire

Because our whole system is based on human emotions, moods, confidence. No math. No science. Just pure and simple impulses.

Heard a lecture by Dr. Joshua Farley from Madison Institute. He is an ecological economist. He posed the question, how would life be if we cut back our GDP by TWO-THIRDS?

Answer: like it was in 1969. Our GDP was one third of what it is now.

And we used one-sixth the amount of gasoline back then, which would reduce greenhouse gases sufficiently so as to comply with the Kyoto protocol.

Life can be beautiful on LESS STUFF and LESS OIL.
