Matt Taibbi: Elizabeth Warren For President In 2012
from The Huffington Post by The Huffington Post News Editors

We're coming up on the one- year anniversary of Barack Obama's election. I think it's maybe time that we asked ourselves how he's doing.

He didn't close Guantanamo Bay, and not only didn't reject the idea of pre-emptive detention but added spice to his own new version of pre-crime prosecution, "prolonged detention." He promised health care reform and campaigned on a public option, and we all know how that is going to turn out

Obama is a master of timing. Don't count him out just yet.

WHO'S Elizabeth Warren and why would I vote for her?

Obama is on his way to a 500 electoral vote victory in 2012.

This is a great idea...Even if it didn't work out, it might move Obama to put her Treasury to replace Geithner...

Elizabeth likes Obama, works for Obama, and helps Obama
every single thing Obama has done, is backed by Elizabeth

this article is downright bizarre.

as someone asked, when exactly was this written? August?

If a robust public option is included in the health care bill and if Obama doesn't singinficant increase troops in Afganistan, I will give him a pass for the first year...I also like him but I am disappointed
in the direction things are not going in...

me thinks the bush family in advance left him what they did, knowing full well, that with all the crap Bush did,
they would have an argument in their favor for Jeb eight years down the road, when people might forget,
and Jeb may be looked at as the great white hope.
However- I don't think the Bush's counted on the republicans having a 20% favorable rating as of today, meaning 80% do not believe the republicans will do what they want

so that is what you have

Jeb vs. Obama

and in all foreseeable future, that is all the US is going to have, like it or not.

(though it is quite possible, in the house and senate, you may see some independents get elected
but then you may see more Ned Lamont outcomes (win primary, have the loser win the general).

this 3rd party Daggett guy in NJ is polling in the 20s now on some polls, it is quite possible he could win and no one even really knows anything about him (though he is a conservative)
there was a rumor Bloomberg was going to endorse him, but that was only a rumor (and he is not a mike bloomberg
type, so I would doubt it.)

Better that Obama be challenged from the Left by Warren than from the Right by Hillary...

Hillary isn't stupid, she isn't going to challenge

however, much as I hate Hillary, I can envision UNFORTUNATELY that she is the wild card

IF Obama needs something, he could drop Biden and pick her for vp
If Sarah somehow gets attention

so Hillary is Obama's wildcard, not enemy or rival

I don't expect any challenge for Obama

I think that will depend on how the economy and the wars go...
