WASHINGTON — White House officials considered trying to rewrite the international treaties signed more than half a century ago protecting certain wartime prisoners from mistreatment, senators were told Thursday.

Let me extend the first "Thanks A-Hole" to Alberto G. I'm sure our troops feel great now that we've removed any restrictions on torture....

He's opened the door for our troops to be tortured. We've always complied with the Geneva Convention because it would protect our troops as well as those of any civil nation. When we stop following the rules, who else will provide the example. Furthermore, there goes any basis for establishing what war crimes are.

...and in the end, all they had to do was to change the definition of torture, allowing any method short of organ failure or death.
