In 1998, proclaiming 2005 as the International Year of Microcredit (resolution 53/197 of 15 December), the General Assembly of the UN requested that the Year's observance be a special occasion for giving impetus to microcredit programmes throughout the world. The Assembly asked all those involved in poverty eradication to take additional steps to make available credit and related services for self-employment and income-generating activities to an increasing number of people living in poverty. Governments, NGOs, the private sector and the media were invited to highlight the role of microcredit in poverty eradication, its contribution to social development, and its positive impact on the lives of the poor.

microcredit was on discussion on wef. pakistan present itself as very successfull, and
the remarkable in pakistan is that the gender equallity is carefully protected this was
also subject in the discussion where ambassadors (sry the names) of egypt, iran, malaysia,
pakistan were teaching about their countries and of course india, bengal,

for swiss there was proposed that very easily the ahv/iv/bvg (social security) could
engage in microcredit and could be better of then how the performing was for the last
few years. the cs banking could confirm that this is surprising and there
was the proposal mentioned that the cs should go and learn from the
pakistani microcredit to learn about business. if i got it right?!?! i did

so the problem supose to be just in the confidence and this should just take time...
why take more time.... swiss is so unbelievable.... they can tell something very true
and then turn arrogant their back...it seems to me...and this one long livetime
it gets to much......

switzerland will be the last country to become how to say may be little bit update..

sorry to much switz......

sharon stone had some efforts to get them off their chairs
she keep on animating and slowly they got on their feet
and she made this effort for the concentrated money fload

When I first heard about microcredit, I thought how simple! It is the one thing that works and the best thing about it is that it reaches the people who need it. Following is one story that gives you an idea of how it works. There are other stories at the below link.

Cambodia
A Sturdy Roof Overhead
Phorn Hun never had property of her own. She lived in a thatched-roof house along the fence of a pagoda. No one, not even private moneylenders, dared to give her a loan. In 1998, however, Mrs. Hun approached ACLEDA Bank and explained her unfortunate situation. She told them about her idea to start a noodle business and they offered her a loan of US$ 25. Only a few years later, Mrs. Hun’s profit’s enabled her to buy a small piece of land to build a wooden house with a metal sheet roof, a luxury she could never afford before. She is still an active borrower of ACLEDA Bank; she has since had ten subsequent loans. ACLEDA Bank gave Mrs. Hun a chance at a new and successful enterprise—and she capitalized. cool.gif
