QUOTE
Amendment I - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This is being so totally undermined by red tape, i.e. permit regs, delays, local heavy police baseless interventions, seen during the conventions, where opposition was pratically treated as treason and it will be worse during the inaugural demonstrations. Control, control control, all freakin' designed to stifle legitimate dissent. You may have heard about how the R's got all the space assignments and bleacher areas, if you happen to be a c-span junkie.

Set your VCR's to tape Jan 20. then review for where the bureaucracy is going to "allow" our rights. This red tape and unfairness in alloting space contributes to the possibility that it may not remain peaceful - do you think that could possibly be unintentional. Maybe I could sell you a bridge!

This is why I think the protests that will be held in major cities will be so important. i would love to be able to able to afford to go to DC but can't. However I also think that the MSM will not show too much of the protesters there anyway-this is where the nationwide protests play the key role. Even if there is not national coverage there will be local newsplay if enough people show up at local counter protests. I had considered staying in town but my city really isn't big enough to get the Los Angeles coverage-so we're going to LA to swell the numbers there (hopefully the tanks won't show up this time) I hope enough people will participate in the walk-outs, boycotts and other protests that have been called to make an impact on our lethargic MSM. I know there is the mindset by some people that these protests will not solve anything but if enough voices are raised and we can get some of this information out to the general public then we have succeeded. Teflon Bush and Co. has been given a free pass on way too many issues-time to let him know what we think of his mandate!
