I think the beginnings of election reform is the need to start electing more Democratic election officials on the local level. So everyone who writes off local elections needs to get themselves to the polls more often. We need to have real balance back in local election boards.

I'm in MA, just like you. I know, we've got plenty of Dems here. smile.gif I was talking about states other than the solidly blue ones. Democrats in those states need to participate more fully in local elections, which generally have much lower turnout. They need to start electing Dems to positions on local election boards, and for other postions, for everything from school board to county soil commisioner to dog catcher. That's what the conservatives did years ago. And now those people are running for Congress and Senate. It's the sort of thing that Dean is trying to encourage with Democracy For America.
