The conventional beliefs is an asteroid struck the earth, causing the exinction of the dinosaurs and other species on this planet 250 million years ago. But a new theory based on research has arose that global warming may have wiped out the species on this planet.

The article is not talking about the extinction of the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs did not exist until about 65 million years ago. This die-off occurred long before the dinosaurs existed...
"Global warming, not an asteroid impact, was to blame for the mass extinction of species 250 million years ago.."

The article was saying that a deadly Global Warming did occur in our distant past, by natural geologic events, implying that it can occur again; human pollution can cause the same effect.

The authors continue to believe an asteroid caused the mass dinosaur extinction:
Most experts concur that the disappearance of the dinosaurs some 65 million years ago was caused by a huge asteroid that fell near Mexico's Yucatan peninsula.

Okay, thanks for correcting my earlier assessment. smile.gif I was under the impression, that this article referred to the time period of the dinosaurs and other forms of life related to it.
