If Kerry had listened to me and addressed the issue regarding children caught in the middle of divorce custody disputes and giving fit parents an equal say in the lives of their children he would have won the election. There are millions of people across America suffering the effects of the divorce industry. Its too bad he didn't listen. I live in Florida. If I could have told my parents that Kerry was for equal rights for fit parents he would have won this state!

You are right there. Kerry was anti-familyand anti-men, and Bush was neutral. If either of them had come out in favor of equal rights for fathers and men in general they would have gained a lot of votes. Both major parties need to take another look at equal rights in America. The failed feminism vote no logner wins elections.

It's just hard to be proud to be a Democrat when our party leader isn't willing to go to bat for millions of kids and their parents. I don't know if Kerry would have won or not if he had addressed the custody issue. Then again, Kerry doesn't know either. No one knows if he could have hit that curve ball or not, If he had lost doing so, I could have lived with that. But, he never even stepped up to the plate. He didn't fail trying. He failed to try.

This issue is a core component of so many other child issues. The system needs reform. The states are slow to make changes and I feel that is necessary for the federal government to set more national standards to mandate that all parents have equal rights and responsibilities to their children. The current laws are unfair to the entire family - especially to the children. What are these legislators afraid of? Why do so many of them refuse to address this issue?

I think you are right. The major parties really need to start paying attention. I mean with 50% of all marriages ending in divorce, there is a very large percent of the population who have to deal with child custody issues day in and day out. While CS might also be a problem, it doesn't really seem that the recent (last 8 years or so) efforts to increase CS collected (percentage wise) have been rather unsuccessful. We need to make it know to future political candidates and even our current candidates need to address these issues. unsure.gif

I voted Libertarian this time just because of the fact that Kerry didn't even to bother to pay lip service to this issue. It's a non issue with Democrats because the feminists have a stranglehold on that party. In fact, with the recent losses in mind, it seems as though the feminists are strangling the party to death.
