After this discouraging election, it seems apparent that for the moment we can be more effective locally. If every one of us conserved a little more energy at home, bought a fuel efficient vehicle and added solar to their home, we could have a big impact on oil dependence. Of course, this needs to catch on around the country to get us out of the oil wars. but setting an example is a great way to start.

In my little community in northern CA, we started a grassroots organization called Solar Sebastopol. It is supported by the city which has but solar PV on the fire station, public works building and community pool - more is coming. We encourage residents to Go Solar now - there is great enthusiasm for this program. try it in your community. check us out at:

Yes all may be lost on the current administration's desire to interupt anything that may resemble any part of what we have believed in for many years. Here in Washington state, especially the eastern part of the state, regulations are needed to be strengthened so that developers have to pay for all of the costs for thier projects.
