Those who oppose the Iraq war are conflicted because like it or not our tax dollars are paying for it. How about opting out?

Perhaps they haven't been sent to jail YET, but they still owe the money AND that money is going to be paid with interests. They will withhold it from any refund due over a period of years.

If I am not mistaken, there is also a law against urging people not to pay there taxes and a couple of people were arrested for doing this a few years ago. It doesn't sound like a very wise move to me.

It's not legal yet but if enough people push the pending Religious Freedom Peace Tax Fund bull in Congress objectors could have a legal out. Tax monies are earmarked for non military federal spending.

The option that we do have is to select the 'big corporations' who supports corrupt Bush & Cheney and refuse to buy their product or services! Your theory is correct, and is very needed, but now to apply that theory at the very things that fuels this corrupt govt and remove that money source from them. That will be America's power. The non-spending American!

From the investment standpoint there are mutual funds (Pax World being one) who will not invest in any company that profits from war.

Money given to the government is put into a big pile and spent as needed. It is a fantasy to think that money can be segregated in this manner. Besides the Social Security trust fund money and borrowed money can just as easely said to be funding the war.
