Jerry Lewis R-CA
He was gushing over how great it was to have Condi as Sec of State...
She's already made a ton of mistakes -
We find out she lied even more before the 9/11 Commission as did her boss regarding the threat from planes being used as bombs...
Why not ask her about her credibility...
I beg your pardon, Madame Secretary, but how can you sit here with a straight face and suggest to us that we should regard your remarks as credible on the issue of the foreign policy budget for the Department of State when with each passing day we find one more lie and set of misinformation that you provided us as Natinoal security Advisor? A Dem is now getting on her about her Iran policy which changes ...

Is she giving an opening statement or a campaign speech.
Yuck.
I garnered the tremendous prodictive spirit we have had with our allies...
What allies - we have allies?
We focused on the Middle East - Duh?
The urgency about reform in the Middle East is reflected in the budget request...
Yes - but not the budget for Iraq's war...

She's impressed with the opportunity that Abbas and Sharon see...
Well - we were all impressed with the opportunity that presented itself in 2001 when Bush was elected - and instead Bush ignored the Middle East and more violence erupted than had occurred in the previous 20 years between the two groups...
Great leadership...

She agrees with the need to improve public diplomacy...
They are asking for more money to do this...
I think our only problem with public diplomacy is that the people making policy could care a less about public diplomacy.
If we had a different foreign policy which didn't focus onthe overthrow of foreign government which we felt had some value to us economically - such as oil rich states...maybe we wouldn't have states like North Korea feeling threatened by us...thereby increasing the threat of nuclear proliferation....

She was asked why the military training and the police training budgets are included in the Department of Defense budget?
Since police are part of local government operations as opposed to military operations?
She siad because its a war zone...
We believe DOD should have it...
The honest answer - well - Rummy's in charge of Iraq - I mean even when I was appointed to be in charge of it last year - Rummy was still really in charge - we just named me so that you couldn't question me - a presidential advisor before the Congress...

Rep Jim Kolber - AZ - did not have a clue what she said linking the money to the Chief of Missions that is controlled by the Department of State when she said that the DOD would control it...
He said - I don;t understand what point you are making but I have to go on to another question.,..
Man she looks foolish.
The first Dem is up...Nita Lowey

David Obey is up a Dem from Wisconsin.
On Palestine - if they're getting away with murder now - what is it going to be the result if we do not do something with them now - when they become even a bigger gorilla on the block?
On Palestine - is there an understanding by the Palestinian leadership that this is their last shot to get it right?
Rice believes that the words and some actions are there.
But really didn't answer the questions...

Rice is now talking about Hamas doing well inthe election based upon community outreach positions encouraging clinics - they did well in 9 or 10 districts.
Jesse Jackson Jr complimented her on behalf of being second African-American Sec of state.
But he's attacking her on Africa ---
Does the president stand behind his statements in support of Africa?...
Rice says yes of course and that Africa is not a spearate policy but part of our entire policy...
Expect HIV Aids - $1 billion into famine relief - wow! a whole billion - why that;s enough to address what - .05% of the problem...

She has got to have one of the most whiny voices...I can't see how any of our international allies or peers can treat her with any respect.
Albright was in the mold of Margaret Thatcher I thought - she had quite a presence...
Bur Rice just seems small - small in mind - spirit and presence...

And they will frighten the hell out of Congress and the People to make sure America gives out more and more money for their waste. It's time Congress keep reminding how much money they have spent and must be doing something dead wrong for not being able to keep Americans safe.
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ligence_threatsSecretary of State Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites) plugged the adm
inistration's request for $5.8 billion to fight terrorism and also made a pitch on Capitol Hill for an additional $750 million this year for other countries that assisted in Afghanistan (news - web sites) and Iraq.Looks like the Bushies have been hiring the wrong people on the job and making decisions on the wrong plans. The team seems only good at wasting money and doing more reckless harm than good to protect America. Money is no good when those, who spend it, keeps making bad policies and decisions.

Don Sherwood R from PA
He's talking about all the reductions...
He wants to know her thougths on how important this committee is to have confidence that the previous levels have been well managed.
Costs associated with foreign assistance are related to the war on terror..
So I am not going to offer you any evidence that the funds have been used effectively or that the funds actually helped us to gain successes in that effort - but the mere fact that the money was thrown into the black hole called the war on terror is enough....
Give me a break - where's john Stossel when you need him...

And that's what I mention above...
The Congress is not looking for any accountability at all - they ask her these amorphous questions and allow her to give these generalized responses...
and nothing is really said.
Regarding confidence...
Rice said that she is looking to see what works and what doesn't work...
Wait a second - shouldn't we know now what works and what doesn't work?
Haven't we been at this for some time now?

A Dem asked her about a successful exit strategy...
Rice is talking about a successful exit strategy in terms of Afghanistan and how we have to change the whole middle east so it does not support hatred...
How are they going to do this?
Blow up the middle east?
Rice says we have to get the Iraqis to succeed on their own
Questioner said - but that takes a long time...
Rice says - yes but it was so hopeful...
Now she;s atlking about training the security the forces...
Now on Sudan...
Why did the US go there and label it as genocide but the UN is not being pressured to classify it as such...
The US is trying to get the Sudan government involved...The questioner said they are responsible for the genocide...
yes - but we ar trying to get them to help out...
What a lame weak awful response...
Now they have a Repub hack who said it was great to see how well you were liked in France...
I'm going to gag - she spoke before a limited audience with screened questions just like when Bushy goes on his Q/A sessions...

Mark Kirk - R Illinois
Compliment her on keeping civilian to civilian assistance - but she just said its part of the DOD budget for police training...
No question asked - just a chance for Rice to pop off about success in Iraq...

If the People are really serious about saving America from being bankrupted by those Senators who keep selling off America and still keep harping threats and warnings about our Homelandland Security, they'd better think twice about getting a change and vote the bad Republican Senator out. Bush had five years in office and the Bushies are still incapable of cleaning up the mess and threats. What they've been doing has given us more reason to fear for our safety. The more they linger in their positions, the more poor America gets and the less safer we are.
