Al-Qaida attacks 'will escalate'

A UN team has warned attacks by al-Qaida will escalate as they still have easy access to bomb-making materials and money.

Terror attacks sponsored by al-Qaida and weapons of mass destruction are among the chief threats to the world, according to the team’s report to a UN Security Council committee monitoring sanctions against al-Qaida and the Taliban.

Al-Qaida can mount "devastating attacks" and sanctions are only having a limited effect on the group, which wants chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, the UN report released yesterday said.

Anyone ever wonder when the UN is going to step up to the plate and place sanctions on the REAL terrorists here? Anyone ever wonder when they're going to have the balls to take on the REAL criminals. Yeah that means US.
