What is Project 535?

"Project 535" is a group of volunteer women from all walks of life united by their passion to give a face and voice on Capitol Hill to the half-million members of Concerned Women for America . Every month when the 535 members of Congress are in session, these ladies commute to Washington, D.C., to lobby. While here, our spirited "Project 535" members travel in pairs to meet with congressmen and their staffers and urge them to act on legislation that will strengthen America's families.

"Project 535" is a group of trained volunteers who, as a whole, are able to tackle from between 40 and 70 congressional offices in a day! These ladies fearlessly speak with the member or his staff to discuss a particular piece of pro-family legislation.

Vulgar' Oscar host Rock attacked

Oscars ceremony producer Gil Cates (left) has defended Chris Rock
A US Christian group has criticised the choice of comedian Chris Rock as host of this year's Oscars ceremony because they say he is "lewd" and "vulgar".

Concerned Women for America (CWA) said the choice proved Hollywood was "out of touch" with the rest of the country.

CWA said: "Hollywood seems intent on spreading vulgarity far and wide.

"So the F-word-spewing Chris Rock might actually be the perfect Tinseltown ambassador." The Oscars ceremony will take place on 27 February.

And this is a guy who does Sesame Street videos.

The Fifth Element was great.

Well, in looking at the web-sites... it seems that "pro-family" is a pretty euphemistic description and "framing" of the organization.

The text copy of the website shows that what this group means by Pro-family, is pro-bible and pro-republican. The Leaders of the group "seem" to be republicans... and seem the text seems to suggest that they are pushing the republican agenda.

I have read a little about these women, to describe them as pro-family is not doing them justice. They are against everything from abortion to young people "doing their own thing". They are a very, very extreme group of scary women. They make MADD mothers look mild.

Not to offend MADD mothers - I respect their initiative completely as they have lost loved ones to drunk driving accidents. However much they are understandably impassioned, the 535 group of ladies are much more extreme in a negative sense. You could call them a hate group of anything liberal or anything pertaining to women's rights.

Sounds like a new twist on the Hitler Youth.

Amerika gets uglier by the minute...

Pkemp I agree completely, these viscious battle-axes are completely against any gains women have made in a century, or gays/lesbians have made in 30 years.
Obviously these baracudas have plenty of money and time, since they can go lobby constantly.I would like to be a fly on the wall when one of these bloated old exurb sows comes across a dyke from NGLTF or a NARAL feminist in the halls of Congress. WHAM !!!POW!!! ZOWIE!! :D

I'll say this for them...they sound active.
I may disagree, but I've learned to respect
guerillas. Ask them about National Guardsmen
dying for the New World Order...force their hand.
Or make them sound stupid...life begins at
conscription. wink.gif
