I couldn't find a proper place for this anywhere but General Discussion, so Mr moderator put this where you see best but I would like some helpful answers fast.
I have been working for a local hospital for over 2 years now and I have been harassed since my first boss found out that I was a registered Democat. I will explain one instance out of the many that occured. Would someone please tell me what recourse I have.
I first started woking as a collector in an office of about five people, not including supervisors. About a year ago my boss came out of his office and told us to gather around the reception desk up front, which was customary for short meetings. He had a piece of paper in his hand that he said was a survey, and that he needed to get our answers to it. He said "Ron, since your the big liberal we'll start with you" The guestions he asked pertained to, the war in Irag, a current bridge project locally, and a few other questions that pertained to the upcomeing campaign. After answering the questions he folded up the paper, gave me a look like, NOW WE KNOW WHERE YOU STAND, and walked back to his office. Shortly after he came back and chewed us all out for standing around. Like I said this was just one of many things he's done. I found out later that the survey was from our local congress woman.
Now I'm finding out that my new office has a rabid Republican for a secratary, and office manager. I've taken about all the crap I'm going to take from those 2 and with what I've went thrugh before, I'm ready to go off, and believe me they don't want that because I'm a walking time bomb at the moment. I won't bore anyone with the current details just to say that I need some advise. I'm goin to the wall.

Well I guess I go this one alone.

This sounds like harrassment. I'm not a lawyer, but there should be a state-level office or advocacy group where you can file a complaint and get some help.

I would document everything, without bomblasting your employer, just the facts, in a hard-bound notebook. Number the pages. Document, document, document.

Thanks. I even have four witnesses. Of course they are only as good as their resolve.

Here's a great link to help you with documentation and any letters you write.

I agree - you need to document EVERYTHING. Have a little spiral notebook that you can put in your pocket and write down what was said, the date, time and who was around when it was said, even if it's patients. (for your own records). It's very hard for someone to dispute harassment if you have all the details. I would contact a local lawyer and ask them about work place harassment - many will do consults for free.
Please let us know how things go - no one deserves to be harassed at work, especially when it makes you dread the thought of even going in to work. (I've been there before).
Good luck.
