Senator Bill Frist is sitting on his nuclear option. The filibuster is in danger. Right now, the future of the filibuster rests in the hands of a few Senators--and, of course, US.

Because after all, THEY WORK FOR US. So no matter who you voted for, or what your persuasions are--take the time to think about this issue. Really think. Do you want checks and balances? Do you want discussion of judgeships? Or are you thinking that it is a good thing to rush appointments to the Federal bench through without much discussion?

Hi, Karen...yes we must have checks and balances. This is the foundation of our democracy. That's always true, but especially true now.

Let's all please take action on this!

I've written both of mine. To bad they are both Republicans, of the worst kind.

My two senators are Santorum and Specter. I'll contact them. Will be interesting to see if i get a personal response.

I'll see your Santorum and Specter, and raise you my McConnell and Bunning. I'll let you know what I get back if you'll let me see your reply. These should really be good.

THEY WORK FOR US. (Well, not for me; I live in the District of Columbia!)

That is great. Santorum is going to run in a difficult race in 2006 and he is one of the Rep Senators who is supporting the nuclear option. Also, Specter is still undecided--letters from all of us to both of those Senators "may" have some impact, but letters from their constituents will have much more of an impact.

I offer either one of you a deal: I'll take your Senators in exchange for Kay and Cornyn. I'll give it a shot, but don't hold out much hope; Cornyn owes his job to the Commander-In-Thief several times over.
