Launch of the "Save Our Elections" Campaign
WASHINGTON -- April 22 -- The 2004 presidential election ended nearly six months ago, but Common Cause is working hard to make sure that the serious problems revealed in our election system, such as hours-long lines, malfunctioning machines, and absentee ballots that never arrived, are fixed and not forgotten.
To help us keep the story alive as we push for reforms, two award-winning documentary filmmakers, Erin and Conrad Stanley of Los Angeles, produced a compelling two-minute video clip on Election Day 2004. Common Cause is also in the process of making its own short documentary highlighting the problems of the last presidential election.
The clip, entitled "Never Forget November 2nd," can be viewed by clicking here. Please share it with everyone you know who is concerned about our flawed election system.
We hope the powerful images depicting the problems that in resulted in some Americans losing the ability to cast a ballot will inspire you to join our election reform efforts, which are going on at the state and federal levels.
Our goal is to assure that every American who is eligible to vote is able to cast a ballot, and that that vote is counted. Your participation in this campaign is vitally important. So, please sign our Save Our Elections petitionand pass it along to friends to sign.
