Friday, May 20, 2005

The season finale of the ABC television show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will air on Sunday, May 22, featuring the family of Lori Piestewa, the Hopi woman killed in action in Iraq.

With tribal donations and help from a housing company, the show build a new home for Piestewa's parents and her two young children. The home is located in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The family was selected after being nominated by Jessica Lynch, Lori's best friend and roommate in the U.S. Army. Jessica survived the attack by Iraqi soldiers that led to Lori's death on March 23, 2003.

Check local listings for time and station of the program.

Thanks for the heads up! I will be sure to set our vcr to record it.
Don't watch tv any more and recording it allows me to blast through the commercials and not waste time waiting for them during the show.

with smile through tears, to honor a sister

"American Indian Heroine~Lori Ann Piestewa"

sister
your sacrifice is known
your bravery become legend
we hold you up in honor
rest in Peace

sister
your Path led to Creator,
walk on Mother Earth done
1st Indian sister gone, this war
you are missed

sister
you smile down on your babies
whispers soft in their ears
your guidance in their lives
mother's always love

sister
your dance in the stars now
proud family aches in heart
Circle, broken, now tightened
sorrow, drums beat

sister
your body broken in battle
your cry goes over the Nations
your courage swells pride
We Honor You

Wonderful program...

All the episodes are god - but this one.. the way they helped the Indian veterans out...as well as the family...

It is so sad that it takes the kindness of strangers to do these things - things that our people -- our government will not do...
