Dear Friends,
After many months of planning and weekly meetings, the time has come to
march against the "wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan. So on Saturday at noon, we
march again.
The "SOULstice Experience" is upon us...to kick off the "summer of
resistance, 2005".
We are closer than ever to drawing the general public into a state of
awareness of the deceptions of the Bush White House, involving these
disasterous events involving our nation, so I think it is within reason to
say that this is the MOST IMPORTANT DEMONSTRATION to date, primarliy because
of the Downning Street Memo, and the now uncovered fact that Bush and Cheney
started bombing Iraq BEFORE the (much heralded) Congressional vote approving
military action.
The fact is, Bush & Cheney were ALREADY AT WAR as they said these things to
the world.
With that in mind, we must now become more visible and vocal than any other
time in the movement. On Thursday, one of our featured speakers, Cindy
Sheehan, co-founder of Gold Star Families For Peace, will attend
Congressional hearings on when EXACTLY Bush and Cheney decided to use
militarily action, as they continued to tell the nation that they were doing
"everything possible" to avoid going to war. She will report on what took
place, and what to expect from these hearings.
We are incredibly lucky to have Cindy at this particular time...also Dennis
Kyne, DU expert and Desert Storm comat vet, Pat Dooley, Viet Nam Combat Vet,
Charlie Anderson, Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Randolph Scott of the
NAACP, will be among our guest speakers
All that being said, here is the line-up that we have arranged for the week:
