Dear friend,

Questions are swirling around whether the election was conducted honestly or not. We need to know -- was it or wasn't it?

If people were wrongly prevented from voting, or if legitimate votes were mis-counted or not counted at all, we need to know so the wrongdoers can be held accountable, and to help prevent this from happening again.

Members of Congress are demanding an investigation to answer this question. Join me in supporting their call, at:

Why just congress the NEC to. A pettition to not certify the results because of mismanagement faulty software and machines. With a plan to revote on July 4 2005. Thats plenty of time to fix the machines and software and get rid of provisionals. Everyone has to vote on it fast track it.

Go to this site and get it started. Have the results sent to the FEC. Get a contact
number. The Fec do they have any power am I wrong what about the UN. Iam unsure.

anyway make the contacts start the petition. hit the link

We are making a difference....check this letter out that I just got via e-mail:

*GREEN & LIBERTARIAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES
TO DEMAND **OHIO** RECOUNT**

David Cobb and Michael Badnarik, the 2004 presidential candidates for
the Green and Libertarian parties, today announced their intentions to
file a formal demand for a recount of the presidential ballots cast in Ohio.

"Due to widespread reports of irregularities in the Ohio voting process,
we are compelled to demand a recount of the Ohio presidential vote.
Voting is the heart of the democratic process in which we as a nation
put our faith. When people stand in line for hours to exercise their
right to vote, they need to know that all votes will be counted fairly
and accurately. We must protect the rights of the people of Ohio, as
well as all Americans, and stand up for the right to vote and the right
for people's votes to be counted. The integrity of the democratic
process is at stake," the two candidates said in a joint statement.

The candidates also demanded that Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth
Blackwell, a Republican who chaired the Ohio Bush campaign, recuse
himself from the recount process.

The Ohio presidential election was marred by numerous press and
independent reports of voter intimidation, mis-marked and discarded
ballots, problems with electronic voting machines and the targeted
disenfranchisement of African American voters. A number of citizens'
groups and voting rights organizations are holding hearings this
Saturday in Columbus, Ohio to investigate voting irregularities and
voter suppression in the Ohio 2004 general election. The hearings will
be held from 1-4 p.m. at the New Faith Baptist Church, 955 Oak Street.
Voters, poll workers, journalists and voting experts are invited to
testify. A second hearing will be held on Monday at a location TBA, from
6-9 p.m.

The Cobb and Badnarik campaigns are in the process of raising the
required fee, estimated at $110,000, for filing for a complete recount.
The campaigns are accepting contributions through their websites. The
Cobb-LaMarche website is http://www.votecobb.org
<http://www.votecobborg/>. The Badnarik-Campagna contribution page is
https://badnarik.org.

The Cobb and Badnarik campaigns have displayed a level of cooperation
and civility rarely found in electoral politics. The campaigns jointly
participated in and/or sponsored a series of independent debates. Cobb
and Badnarik were also simultaneously arrested in St. Louis protesting
their exclusion from the restricted, two-party corporate-sponsored debates.

To see an investigative report by Greg Palast, author of /The Best
Democracy Money Can Buy/, which asserts that the Ohio vote was
improperly decided, see http://www.tompaine.com/articles/kerry_won.php.

For an article detailing a dozen ways in which the Ohio vote was
potentially manipulated, see

Election Protection has now joined in the request, and has their own site for helping people write their leaders in Congress. I consider that extremely significant.

This is the text of the message I receipved fro EP a few minutes ago:
_____________

Amid the appeals over the last week for a healing of political divisions another call has been muted: the call for a full investigation of the election irregularities documented by Election Protection volunteers and others. We must let our voices be heard by Congress and the media so that evidence and testimony can be secured, examined and, ultimately, used to inform future efforts to protect voters' rights, whether they be a week, a month, or four years down the road.

You can help today by taking two actions. First, e-mail a letter to your members of Congress urging them to support an investigation of election problems across the nation by the General Accountability Office, Congress' independent and nonpartisan investigative arm.

http://www.pfaw.org/go/Election2004/supportGAOinvestigation

Second, write a letter to local media outlets that briefly describes election-day problems you witnessed and that encourages others to join the call for a complete accounting of the election failures on November 2.

http://www.pfaw.org/go/Election2004/LTEforinvestigation

Public pressure, led by Election Protection volunteers like you, is critical in the coming weeks. Simultaneously, PFAW Foundation's Election Protection team is supporting efforts to impound voting machines, or obtain back-up data from machines, in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Mexico because of reported voting discrepancies and problems. We are also collaborating on public hearings in Ohio to take official testimony and input from voters and volunteers who observed problems there on November 2 (hearing details to follow in a subsequent e-mail). Last but not least, Election Protection attorneys are pursuing challenges to some troubling election incidents, including the failure of elections officials to supply absentee ballots to voters that requested them and the inconsistent application of voter identification and provisional ballot requirements.

We wrote last week that Election Protection was a success because of what you put into it. That success instills in us a deeper obligation to keep striving for an election when every eligible voter will be able to cast a ballot that counts. You helped put democracy to the test -- now we must sort through the results, pinpoint the problems, and find the answers. All of the wonderful comments we've received from volunteers have assured us that you are committed to the same goal.

Please speak out today for a thorough investigation of the 2004 election. Election Protection still has much to do, and we'll make sure that you stay up-to-date with regular e-mail alerts.

Thank you,
Ralph G. Neas
President
People For the American Way Foundation

P.S. - Many of you took the time to e-mail us at ephotline@pfaw.org with constructive comments and suggestions for improving Election Protection and our nation's elections system. Even as Election Protection's work continues, we are taking the time to evaluate the program, and your feedback is very helpful. We do want to re-emphasize, however, that Election Protection remains completely nonpartisan and 100% focused on safeguarding the rights of each voter. Our post-November 2 efforts are not intended to change election results for any issue, party or candidate.

I added this comment, and urge that everyone else try and follow my lead on this:

Americans turned out in great numbers this election, and it should be clear to everyone that the nation is engaged. All we ask is transparency; let us see that the election was fairly conducted. I think we're entitled to that much.

Be nice, be sensible, be focused on transparency. The innocent have nothing to fear from it and it is a fair request. Please.

NARAL, HRC, DNC, MOVEON.org etc., etc., every "liberal" media outlet, and Democratic politician should band together to address voter fraud and voter reform. No more $$$$$ to watch our vote not count. All of the volunteering and money will not force our vote to count when the system is blatantly corrupt. This is not one of many passing issues; all of the other issues will not be addressed until our vote counts. We need to research solutions, for example

1) have a 3 month presidential election process,
2) government provides equal air time with real debates,
3) verified voting,
4) rid electoral college - each vote counts,
5) voter registration should be once and automatic,
6) define national standards for voting, voting process, and voting machines,
7) welcome international monitors and auditing.

DNC wanted feedback for new a direction, what better tribute or cause then to give us back our democracy.

The petition offered by Move.org and other web sites are not linked in anyway to the call by members of Congress to investigate the election. Though it is important to sign these petitions, it is perhaps more important to write to your congressperson personally, no form letters, and let them know you want them to support an investigation into possible elections fraud.

http://www.petitiononline.com/uselect/petition.html
I followed the link to the site offering this popular petition. It needs 1.6 million real signatures to be effective. I imagine the moveon petition would need the same number.

I feel it may be more effective for us to approach the problem from all sides. Sign the petitions (which will take months or years to collect the required number of signatures) and write to your representative, Senator and Governor to ask them to support an investigation.

The Ohio and FLorida machines had no paper reciepts to track the voting results. California did. The outcome 'is history'.
