It's been nearly a year since Tamra Keepness disappeared from her home in Regina and police still don't know what happened to the little girl.

But Tamra's father still believes his daughter will be found alive.

"I always have dreams, you know," said Troy Keepness. "Some day someone will have a big celebration, and come and tell me that they found her. I'm not losing hope. I never did.

"My people tell me she is gone, but I don't believe that. I always think that she's going to be found and someone will call me and tell me that she is all right."

The pain is felt well beyond the family. "It's tough on a community to have this unfortunate case," said Regina Mayor Pat Fiaco. "No one wants to see anyone missing ... especially a six-year-old girl."

But after a year of investigating, hundreds of interviews, thousands of tips, even a $25,000 reward, police are still looking.

Police Chief Cal Johnston admits it has been a tough slog. "It's been tiring, it's been a grind, it's been hard," he said.

Almost from the moment Tamra disappeared, police suspected foul play and their opinion hasn't changed.

"We have been unable to find any alternative explanation for the disappearance of this little girl except criminal activity, some kind of malfeasance. There's just no indication of accident, there's no indication of misadventure," said Johnston.

The chief says eventually the case will be solved, that police in Regina aren't giving up. Six new investigators were recently assigned to the case.

Keep your eyes peeled for this little cuttie. Hope she's found safely.

How very sad. Let us hope she is with someone who is taking good care of her....

"48 Hours Mystery" last night revisited the disappearence of Sabrina, who is still missing after over FIVE YEARS, stolen from her baby crib at five mos.

Of course, the night before last, the O'Reilly factor had almost a full show devoted to the 18 year old missing in Aruba for SIX DAYS. Although my heart wrenches when I think of that young girl lost and away from friends and family, this happens all too frequently.

We should have a TV channel devoted entirely to broadcasting the stories, names and pictures of stolen children. John Walsh!!!!!!! Where are you?

Someone close to the incidents needs to make more noise. Do not trust the press to tell the story, get in their face with it.

you know that is true bob....not too much that happens in NDN country is press worthy, except the exceptions like Red Lake....wish there had been more press concern for the Lakota Elder that froze to death because of Bush's cuts to the Elders Propane Fund
