It's been nearly a year since Tamra Keepness disappeared from her home in Regina and police still don't know what happened to the little girl.
But Tamra's father still believes his daughter will be found alive.
"I always have dreams, you know," said Troy Keepness. "Some day someone will have a big celebration, and come and tell me that they found her. I'm not losing hope. I never did.
"My people tell me she is gone, but I don't believe that. I always think that she's going to be found and someone will call me and tell me that she is all right."
The pain is felt well beyond the family. "It's tough on a community to have this unfortunate case," said Regina Mayor Pat Fiaco. "No one wants to see anyone missing ... especially a six-year-old girl."
But after a year of investigating, hundreds of interviews, thousands of tips, even a $25,000 reward, police are still looking.
Police Chief Cal Johnston admits it has been a tough slog. "It's been tiring, it's been a grind, it's been hard," he said.
Almost from the moment Tamra disappeared, police suspected foul play and their opinion hasn't changed.
"We have been unable to find any alternative explanation for the disappearance of this little girl except criminal activity, some kind of malfeasance. There's just no indication of accident, there's no indication of misadventure," said Johnston.
The chief says eventually the case will be solved, that police in Regina aren't giving up. Six new investigators were recently assigned to the case.
