Deconstruct the idea of "Democrat" and figure out what we're really all about. Boil it down to one sentence, and hammer away. We share more characteristics with Conservatives than we do with the neocon swine that have hijackled our country.

i don't buy it. he's not the last defender. as far as i'm concerned and for millions (not just in America) John Kerry was and is a great man, and could have, would have, should have been a truly great president.

don't forget the endorsements linked here:

"the better candidate by my better half"

(democrats should archive them. a lot of good writing, and perspectives that may be important/useful in the years to come.) America may be ready for a good woman to be president, (something i'd love to see before very long) but i think it would a pity if John Kerry doesn't run again.

I call that right wing rag 'The WEAKLY Standard' !!!

Gebhardt a great candidate - not in my book, he aided and abetted W and passed it off as bi-partisanship. Never moved me in his speeches in the primary and never can recall anything memorable about him except he managed incumbency as well as any of the others and had been in there for years.

True he is a plodder but not a creative originator. He also failed to back Kerry with much enthusiasm IMO. I watched tons of coverage and only remember him showing a couple of times. (I realize the possibility this might be because there was lack of media coverage)

The sum total of that article is a small token of praise with tons of negative repeats. So the writer saw some primary appearances and came off with good appraisal of how effective Kerry was, my my - what if the media had followed all the appearances with changing personnel instead of assigning an imbedded reporter that soon got enbalmed with the travel and demands of such a long campaign. And the reportage showed it.
