I have been debating these people at the Al Gore Support Center

http://algoresupportcenter.com/

and some of them say some rediculous things. Take a look:

http://s8.invisionfree.com/Al_Gore_Support...?showtopic=3083
"This topic is for the anti-gun folks."

and

http://s8.invisionfree.com/Al_Gore_Support...?showtopic=3082
"The only problem i have with Gore."

Anyways, take care.

I had considered registering there with the thought in mind of reasonable discussion, but after reading some of the post, common sense prevailed and I thought better of the idea.
There are some people that will never get it, and I'm too old and ugly to be Joan of Arc. biggrin.gif

FD, I posted a comment there, I'll probably be banned, they dont seem to be open to discussion, just to blame

Nice try noonanda!...Reasoning with an inflexible ideologue is an exorcise in futility, IMO.

I tried to address some of the factual errors and misconceptions there. I'll be interested to see if anyone responds and we can get a fact-based debate going (fingers crossed).

well, the way i see it... THE issue should be responsible behaviour (blahblah inc school shootings etc). and common urban/suburban guy/f with a gun is much more likely noticeably more dangerous than one without.
besides, having strict regulations makes it much easier for law enforcement to... umf... strip da bad uns from guns.

meaning, i don't really see a point in debating that issue(AWB) (maybe i'm just too lazy). i accept the regulations for what they are and arrange my dealings accordingly. yup, must be too lazy... tongue.gif

Considering that it is a Federal felony for a bad guy to so much as touch a single round of ammunition, or ANY gun, I fail to see how piling more and more restriction on people like my wife and I (who have never had so much as a speeding ticket) helps law enforcement take illegal guns away from the bad guys. Yet that's where the gun prohibitionist lobby focuses its efforts--on people like me.

It seems to me that the anti-gun lobby is far more vocally opposed to me lawfully possessing a modern-looking rifle than they are opposed to a criminal illegally possessing a .38 caliber revolver, even though it is the latter that is the crime problem.

Sort of like the proverbial drunk looking for his keys under the streetlight instead of in the ditch where he lost them, because the light is better under the streetlight...
