NOW IS THE TIME!!! We have only hours to help ensure every American vote will be counted in the 2008 election and beyond. The Federal Election Assistance Commission closes the public comment period on their proposed Voluntary Voting System Guidelines at 5 pm this Friday, September 30, 2005.

Please send the following phrase or whatever you would like to express on the proposed guidelines immediately to votingsystemguidelines@eac.gov . Many technical people are submitting detailed comments, but we learned yesterday governments around the world are WATCHING to see what America – YOU – think.

Sorry for the short notice.

PLEASE FORWARD TO OTHERS AS SOON AS YOU HAVE SENT YOUR EMAIL.

THIS IS WHAT YOU EMAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TO: votingsystemguidelines@eac.gov

SUBJECT LINE YOU CAN PUT THIS: Section 6.8 Voluntary Voting System Guidelines

EMAIL NEEDS THIS :

I want Section 6.8 to require a voter-verified paper ballot for ALL voters and voting systems. It should be mandatory.

The paper ballot should be the "legal vote" and take precedence over the electronic ballot and/or vote count.

Sincerely,
(your name, state, email address)
amy
Thanks, Pie. I'll respond.

Dear Amy, you seem to be the only other one that either cares, or thinks it is profitable to fight for your rights. You deserve the best. I sincerely hope there is some man or woman out there who will be a great democratic leader and get in in 2008 DESPITE the system in place.

Thanks, Amy. smile.gif I thought this had some merit, as we all tend to think verification of voting is important.

And thanks for the bump, Lazyboy. wink.gif

This is one of those threads that drops like lead...... yet another. Oh, well.
