Les has a very large midi site. MIDI Studio

He plays all of his midis .. all instruments etc on his keyboard( he's a pianist) so all are done in Real Time .. not with a midi software program like so many use.

He features other sequencers on his site as well. He has never promoted himself until I bugged him sufficiently to push his own more.

We actually reconnected because of his site. We had dated as teenagers but time and circumstances intervened and we drifted apart. We both married others and raised families, I had been on my own since 1977 and his wife passed away in 1982.

We had no idea we lived near one another and hadn't been in touch since we had been single so long ago.

I was searching for a particular midi for my website just over 6 years ago, Found it at MIDI Studio. Wrote asking permission to use it and giving my website address so they could check where it would be used.

The site owner (Les) checked out my site. I have a family section with pictures. He recognized my Grandfather and when he replied to me to give permission for me to use his midi he asked if I was Betty B****. I almost had a stroke when I saw his name on the email.

To make a very long story short.. we were married in 2000 and now those long ago teenagers are growing old together.

I know that wasn't what you asked for Pie but it makes me smile just remembering.

Pegatha that's not one of his originals ! He just played and recorded it. Don't you remember Tony Bennett singing Because of You ?

He makes midis of a lot of old standards.

His originals are more in a Latin vein because he was a Ballroom Dancer and he has a large Ballroom Dance music section on his site. I prefer the old standards. I am no where near as good a dancer as Les was before Rheumatoid Arthritis decided to invade his person.

Because of that he isn't doing nearly as many midis these days , that's why my valentine's present meant so much to me. It's difficult seeing a pianist when he can't play as is the case on his bad days. But he does manage to do at least one or two a month these days.

That song was our favourite when Tony Bennett first recorded it ! We always called it 'our song'. Even old guys with a good memory can be romantics !

Thanks Amy. I'm so pleased you guys like his music. I tell him I only married him because of it . Of course I am kidding and he knows it.

Because of his RA he gets down at times and I try to motivate him to play as the exercise is beneficial. My putting this link in tonight really pleased him when he read the posts.
