"What is wrong with this was eloquently expressed by Andrew Sullivan in an online commentary: "In eight more states now, gay couples have no relationship rights at all. Their legal ability to visit a spouse in a hospital, to pass on property, to have legal protections for their children, has been gutted. If you are a gay couple living in Alabama, you know one thing: Your family has no standing under the law, and it can and will be violated by strangers."
Despair is premature, though. It may take some time, but such fundamental unfairness will one day be seen for what it is: immoral and un-American."
I don't agree with much Andrew Sullivan usually supports, but he is correct when he says our(LGBT) families have no standing under the law, and it can and will be violated by strangers.
To amend his quote, it can and will be ATTEMPTED to be violated by strangers. These strangers underestimate what angry queers and our friends will do to DEFEND OUR FAMILIES!They will find the LGBT community armed to the teeth, there will be NO GOING QUIETLY!
Under Bush 41 and Reagan we demonstrated our opposition to their ignoring the AIDS pandemic, and we will take to the streets again with such force and anger, we will be heard, and we will not stop. Our legal teams will fight these heinous laws in 8 states with a vengance. When the Christian Reich pushes Bush to fulfill their hateful agenda, rational Americans and Christian liberals and moderates will stand with their gay friends.
