I am not a conspiracy theorist at all, and I believe in winning graciously and accepting defeat graciously. However, I had many personal experiences firsthand of Republican foul play while working the election in Nevada, and was APPALLED how prevalent it was. I emailed my experiences to people, and have received back numerous accounts from other people who worked across the country who had *the exact same things happening to them.* I see the integrity of our democracy on dangerous, shaky ground.

I volunteered with the Kerry/Edwards Campaign and worked out of their headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada in the weeks leading up to the election. I personally encountered a GREAT DEAL of voter fraud going on. As a citizen involved in my first campaign, I was stunned at how prevalent it was in Nevada, and couldn't believe the media was not shouting about the foul play from the roof-tops. It was largely ignored by them.

On election day, I was in and out of a precinct all day. I would be in there for 30 minutes getting numbers, and then out for a couple of hours, and then come back. Even in the short time I was in the polling place, unfortunately I could see that nefarious activity was going on with the GOP poll watcher stationed there. He didn’t think anyone was watching, and was meandering up to each machine after someone had voted, looking at the operating panel in back, and writing things down on a folded up piece of paper. Additionally, three poll workers were VERY chummy with him (I have all of their names) - one of them wrote numbers down on a small post-it pad, pulled it out of her pocket, held it down by her waist and read things off to him in a hushed voice. She then hurriedly put the pad back in her pocket, looked around, and walked away. I was sitting at a table about 15 feet away, pretending not to notice a thing as I counted up the info I needed, but it didn’t take a genius to figure out this wasn't right and something was up. By the time I returned the third time, I found out that GOP man had raised a stink and challenged the closing procedures at the polling place saying that “at 7pm sharp the doors will be locked and all the machines turned off, I don’t care who is in line waiting, those are the rules.” (Of course, the law states that if you are already in line when the polls close, you still get to vote.) When I saw a poll worker approaching GOP man again, I nonchalantly and deliberately went and sat closer to where he was. He got the idea, and he either ceased the actions or got a lot more careful about it. I really wished we had had some lawyers stationed there.

After I finished my two phone calls, I called the Nevada voter protection hotline (1-877-WEVOTE2). They took my information, what was going on, and the information of the polling place. I asked for a lawyer to be sent over, but unfortunately it seemed there weren't enough to go around in Vegas. Instead, the Nevada Democratic Boiler Room had me go over and sit as a poll watcher after I called in my final numbers. I went back around 6:40pm, the polls closed at 7:00pm, and GOP man did not do any more challenging while I was there. At 7:40pm the last voter in line at my polling place got to vote. As a side note - in my polling place alone, approximately 5-10% of the total voters were forced to cast provisional ballots due to various problems with the rolls and other disenfranchisement. That’s just not ok. Additionally, they were not warned that a provisional vote would not count the same as a regular ballot.

A few miles away, at another precinct, my friend, Bryan was having a much different experience. He was a poll watcher himself in a precinct that was disadvantaged, and largely Democratic. As he put it, “Almost every vote in the door there meant another vote for Kerry.” The GOP lawyers there began challenging things before the doors even opened. They were exceedingly aggressive, and did everything they could to make things difficult for voters to vote there. They raised a huge stink and challenged a voter who came in wearing a Kerry button, and insisted that that voter not be allowed to vote at all. (The law states that you have to remove any election paraphernalia like buttons and such when asked – but you can still vote. If it is something that can’t be removed (like a shirt), they have to move you through the voting area to vote as quickly as possible and ask you to move at least 100 feet from the building as soon as you are done.) Our 2 Democratic lawyers there fought them right back, and the person did eventually get to cast their ballot. A GOP lawyer accosted a non-partisan Election Protection worker there wearing a vest that said “Every Vote Counts” - they claimed she was electioneering, even though she was not representing either side and her vest did not endorse any candidate. A huge, nasty fight ensued that was captured by the national news media, and made the GOP look pretty bad. When the Assemblywoman for the precinct got wind of what had happened, she came down and confronted the GOP lawyers. She read them the riot act, and informed them to leave her people alone to execute their constitutional right to vote – and this was also captured by the news media. The GOP people continued to challenge everything – from voters, to the process, to Bryan himself for sitting peaceably at a table where he was allowed – indeed, where he had been told to remain by the Poll Team Leader. Bryan stood his ground and won, but not without a contentious fight. At the end of the night, after spending 14 hours with them, it had become clear to Bryan that the Poll Team Leader, as well as the Poll Manager, were both Republican. Bryan announced to the Poll Manager that he would be following the voting machines to the warehouse, along with the lawyers. The Poll Manger challenged that as well, saying it was “not allowed.” When Bryan asked who said that, the Poll Manager named an Assemblyman. When Bryan asked what party the Assemblyman was, the Poll Manager admitted he was Republican. Bryan then called the Nevada Democratic boiler room to verify it was within the law for him to follow behind the machines. They said, “That’s bullshit – yes, you can absolutely follow the machines to the warehouse and make sure no one tampers with them.” He did just that, and finally finished at 9pm.

Also, Ellen, a friend of a friend, worked election protection in Ohio and wrote many of the reports found at the following link: https://voteprotect.org/index.php?display=E...at=ALL&tab=ED04.

Volunteering in the weeks leading up to the election, I also I also talked to a voter first hand (disadvantaged, and perhaps Hispanic - I have their name) on October 24th who insisted that they weren't allowed to vote in the early vote in Nevada, they could only vote on election day. (This, of course, was not true.) When I asked who told them that, she said in broken English, "The Bush lady who call here." There were 3 Kerry votes in that household. I told her of her rights, and they were excited that they actually could go vote the next day. They were going to go as a family.

Please do something. This vote fraud is the story that is being ignored. I am beginning to think that the exit polls were right, and the vote was tampered with unbeknownst to the public. We need answers and accountability, or our democracy does not work. Thank you.

it was on democratic underground, but I believe we all should email it to Bev and company. The more of us who email the more reasons they have to shine light to this story.
