According to this article canda already has one million american immigrants, and is viewed by many as an alternative for progressive thinking individuals to dealing with Bush for four more years.

Any thoughts on this? While the red states seem to be growing the blue may be shrinking. If enough people move the republicans control may become permenant unless the dems make some dramatic changes.

I have close friends who are seriously considering moving to Canada. While I understand their reasons, I have warned them that Canadians may very well not accept the heavy influx of Americans after a while. There may be parts of Canada that are progressive, but then there may be parts that are as narrow-minded as our Reds. I think one has to be careful about surrendering one's citizenship. Believe me, I am ashamed to call myself an American at this disturbed point in time. But I don't know that I want to give up on it either.

Liberals moving to Canada? This news must be the icing on the cake for the Conservatives who are winning at taking the US back to the dark ages--not only did they knock out a few liberals in the COngress, and win back the WH, now they can look forward to making the next election a cake walk, because the Liberals won't be around to take them on.

This is a time when Liberal/moderate Democrats need to run for local offices, support our candidates, stay on top of our Democrat congressmen to fight the Bush administration--not run.
