The study of the melting of the Arctic ice is done, and the consensus is that greenhouse gases are definitely the culprit. Here is a link, download the pdf and read it yourself. The Arctic Climate Impact Assessment is a multinational study, with over 300 authors (we're talking NASA, the NSF, and major thinkers from major universities all over the planet.) This is not a joke, this is one of the best scientific research studies ever done in the history of human civilization.

On C-span today a panel of authors of this study presented their findings to the US Senate Commerce Committee, Chair is Senator John McCain. McCain is clearly in support of the study findings and is pushing this in the Senate. Anyone who argues this science can now be immediately dismissed as a naive, ignorant crackpot. I urge all eco-heads to read this and start writing. The same panel of scientists will present their findings to the EU Parliament on November 24.

Senator Anderson, Republican from Alaska, stated firmly that climate change must be dealt with Now. He said "now" firmly and resoundedly. However he immediately followed this with a statement that oil drilling WILL BEGIN in ANWR THIS YEAR with a provision to provide a revenue stream for Alaskans in coastal communities who are currently dealing with the effects of sea level rise. Estimate of $100 million to move each native coastal village and it's infrastructure, and there are over 100 native villages that must be moved soon. Oooh, this pissed me off, Senator. How can anyone be so blind as to say that we must continue down the path of self destruction in order to save ourselves? If there is money to bomb children in Iraq, then certainly there is money to move children away from the rising Pacific tide waters. All eco-heads should level their attacks on the Senator for saying such an assinine thing.

High praise for the Good Democratic Senator from New Jersey, who was the only Democrat to show up at the meeting. You might want to ask your Democratic Senator why he wasn't present.

How to stop Global warming? First, park your car somewhere and blow it up. Don't buy another one. Ride your bike to work. Why do drive when you know it's wrong? Your car causes extinction, whats wrong with you? Second, stop having babies. We have an overpopulation problem. Use a condom.

I watched the hearings on C-Span regarding global warming and heard testimony from the scientists who wrote that study. The C-Span hearings were amazing, the scientists who testified did so in a way that any person could understand exactly what they were saying. I was completely blown away by what they had to say.

It's frightening to think that much of the damage we have done is irreverserable and it's a tragedy that our country, who contributes most of the pollutants that cause global warming is the least cooperative in doing anything about it. George W. Bush even claims that it's not happening.

There should be no issue more important to any human being than the health of our planet. I urge anyone who has not seen the hearings to try to catch a repeat on C-Span or view it on their website at the following link:
