8th District candidate forum on Thursday (Green Bay Press Gazette, 1/17/2006)

Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 400 is hosting an 8th Congressional District candidate forum at 7 p.m. Thursday at its training center, 2700 Northridge Drive.

The five candidates for the 8th Congressional District seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Mark Green, R-Hobart, are state Rep. John Gard, Peshtigo, state Rep. Terri McCormick, Greenville, both Republicans, and former Brown County Executive Nancy Nusbaum, Dr. Steve Kagen and Jamie Wall, all Democrats.

All have indicated they will attend, though Gard and McCormick are scheduled to be in session and their appearance may be affected by that, said Jeffrey Knaus, business agent for Local 400.

The moderator will be Jeremy Zilber, political science professor at Lawrence University.

The event is open to the public. Questions from the public will be part of the event. The training center holds 300 people
