We need to work very hard to get this man elected. We all know what happened in 04 with Blackwell, who is now running for governor.

Dear Fellow Ohioans,

Ohio was the land of opportunity for my grandparents, who came here from Europe to escape poverty and religious persecution. My parents stayed and raised their three children here. I am a product of our state’s public schools and the first in my family to graduate from college.

What will it take to convince my two sons – and all of our children and grandchildren - to make Ohio their home? How will we keep our best and brightest here, and attract the best and brightest from all over the world to build the next, great Ohio century?

Ohioans understand that our current leaders have let us down. The whole country has heard about the corruption and incompetence of our state government. But now we have a chance to elect a governor who understands the challenges Ohioans face in the 21st century global economy and who is ready to lead us into this highly competitive new era.

As much as we would like to, we cannot save all the jobs that powered the old economy, nor can we force companies to pay wages and benefits that cost more than they can earn for their products. What we must do is create new and better jobs by mak-ing products and delivering services that are better than anything else offered in the world.

The key to creating the high-paying jobs of the future is not to fear the changes that are happening in the economy, but to claim our rightful place as a world economic powerhouse. We will do this by building a world class research base, a state-of-the-art infrastructure, a highly trained workforce, a lean, customer-friendly government, and a quality of life second to none. And then we must take advantage of the rela-tionships Ohioans have around the world to sell our products in the global market-place and to invite our international partners to build their products here in Ohio.

Many great companies and research centers in Ohio are already among the best in the world, creating high-paying jobs that allow us to support our families, our schools, and our communities. Our challenge is to spread this formula for success to every corner of the state.

The next governor must unleash the creativity and entrepreneurial dreams of Ohioans, and build a quality of life that attracts and keeps successful and talented people right here in Ohio. The next governor must cheer for the next great Ohio in-ventor and entrepreneur the same way we root for the next great quarterback at Ohio State. The next governor must end the corruption and cronyism in state government, make it easy and attractive to start businesses and create jobs, and provide quality services at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayers.

As governor of Ohio, I will devote the next four years to making Ohio the best place in the world to create jobs and raise a family. I will remember every day that people have choices about where they live, where they spend their money, where they build their businesses. Every initiative I undertake will be designed to convince people to choose Ohio. I will invite ideas from all Ohioans, regardless of party affiliation, and I will embrace those that make us more competitive in the world and enhance our qual-ity of life. I will make sure that Ohio is the same land of our opportunity for the next generation as it was for generations past. Please join me as we work together to achieve this goal.
