There was a song by The Byrds in 1970 that spoke to me...
Draft Morning (Crosby/Hillman/McGuinn)
Sun warm on my face, I hear you
down below movin' slow
and it's morning
Take my time this morning, no hurry
to learn to kill and take the will
from unknown faces
Today was the day for action
Leave my bed to kill instead
Why should it happen?

I'll have to check my computer at work to see if I have it. Powerful words.

Another...
"If your mem'ry serves you well,
You'll remember you're the one
That called on me to call on them
To get you your favors done.
And after ev'ry plan had failed
And there was nothing more to tell,
You knew that we would meet again,
If your mem'ry served you well.
This wheel's on fire,
Rolling down the road,
Best notify my next of kin,
This wheel shall explode!"
