WRONG!

It's so encouraging to hear about all the great investigative work and recount efforts going on now, thanks to Bev Harris (she needs to be canonized!), Jeff Fisher, Cobb, Badnarik, Nader (yes, Nader!), and many others -- it restores one's faith in the basic decency of (at least some of) one's countrymen. But we can't lean back on our heels now and naively assume that, with all of the overwhelming evidence being uncovered by such efforts, the truth will inevitably come out and justice will be restored. The evidence still could all be swept under the rug (or sunk in an Everglades swamp, more like it!) and the story thrown in the dustbin of history as just another crazy conspiracy theory. It's happened before, and in fact, it's already starting to happen again. You can bet the farm that a cover-up has been planned just as strategically as any military operation over in Iraq (then again, maybe that's what we should be hoping for!) Are we really sure we can we trust the FBI to do an objective investigation into this stuff? Remember, Bev has already apparently faced FBI harrassment after looking into electoral shenanigans in Washington state. Now, with Porter Goss' Stalinesque purging of the intelligence agencies (convenient timing, eh?) of anybody perceived to be "disloyal" to the administration (BTW, why isn't the press raising Cain about THAT democracy-endangering maneuver?), depending on a federal agency like the FBI to investigate may end up being a case of having the foxes guard the henhouse! I pray that I'm wrong and there are still plenty of honorable citizens in the FBI who would disobey cover-up orders, but I fear that our beloved administration would not be willing to take that risk (hence the purges).

Of course, as we all have learned much to our dismay, we obviously can't depend on the mainstream media to blow this case wide open (with the sole exception of Keith Olbermann, God bless him). Yet we MUST keep trying and hope that their profit motive and competitive instinct to get the next big scoop will eventually, with enough public pressure and leakage of the story throught the alternative media, outweigh any pressure from above. It can happen, but WE are the most crucial link in the chain -- if we don't redouble our efforts, get this into the public consciousness and push, push, push, they will try to make this story go right down the ol' memory hole. They just about succeeded in doing it with the story of who really won Florida in 2000, so I sense they're confident they've learned from that and will try to nip this in the bud before the Qa-qaa hits the fan, so to speak. We need to surprise them and make damn sure this story gets out enough so they'll HAVE to cover it, or look like fools. There need to be so many people out in the streets, on the phone lines, on the editorial pages, and in their inboxes demanding to hear the whole story that we'll be able to see Peter Jennings' brow-sweat dipping off his chin during World News Tonight! Then and only then will we know we've done our part, just like Bev, Jeff, and all the others.

Thanks to everyone for all their hard work! WE WILL WIN!!! wink.gif

There's plenty left to do!

We can catch the perpetrators, we know they used modem trouble slips (areas where modem signals showed up sporaddically) and these will be traced back to the central offices!
