I'll bet that bottle had double duty (so to speak)!

A lady bought a new Lexus. It cost a bundle. Two days later, she
brought it back, complaining that the radio was not working. "Madam",
said the sales manager, "the audio system in this car is completely
automatic. All you need to do is tell it what you want to listen to,
and you will hear exactly that!" She drives out, somewhat amazed and a
little confused.

She looked at the radio and said "Nelson." The radio responded,
"Ricky or Willie?" Soon, she was speeding down the highway to the
sounds of "On the road again." The lady was astounded. If she wanted
Beethoven, that's what she got. If she wanted Nat King Cole, she got
it.

Suddenly, at a traffic light, her light turned green and she pulled
out. Off to her right, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a small
sports utility vehicle speeding toward her. She swerved and narrowly
missed a terrible collision. ""expletive deleted"", she muttered. And, from the
radio............

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the United States...."

Love the first camper, Redbird. tongue.gif Note that it is parked in front of a very nice building, not at a "truck stop." Buddy can't see the computer too well- he has only one eye. Plus he got into some leftover duck and chicken and is under the weather. But, I will show it to MrPie when he wanders in from watching a b-ball game with a friend. wink.gif

Its been a basketball weekend. We got killed Friday night by Amherst by 28 points. So everyone really had the glums. Michael had 4 minutes of pt at the end of the game. Today Williams rallied and beat Trinity (who had beat Amherst last weekend) by 25 points. So all the Freshman and a couple of sophomores and parents are going out to celebrate the last home game of the season. A little poignant though. Williams has a tradition of introducing the senior players who are graduating and their parents on the court at the beginning of the last home game. The moms are given a corsage of flowers. So its bittersweet for them. And I'm thinking to myself, they didn't even do this in highschool. There may be one more game if Williams gets ranked in the top four of the colleges in their conference. Seems we are tied for 4th going into today's game, but this will change. They have two more conference games next weekend up in Maine. Playoffs begin the following weekend. So don't know if I will be making the trek up one more time before Spring. Kind of hope so. And yes, he had some pt today too. The Snuff from purple cow land.

Karate Experts Hired to Control Parrots
Thu Feb 2, 10:17 PM ET

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - Organizers of a vintage car rally have hired karate experts to protect vehicles from marauding native parrots, a media report said Friday.

Around 40 members of a local karate club have been enlisted to protect around 140 classic cars due to visit an alpine village near Mt. Cook on New Zealand's South Island on Sunday, the New Zealand Press Association reported.

The karate experts will protect the cars from Keas, sharp-beaked native parrots which have been known to damage vehicles in their search for shiny items, NZPA said.

Denis Callesen, manager of the nearby Hermitage Hotel, said bird lovers needn't be concerned that the karate experts would use martial arts moves on the parrots, which are a protected species. Their job would simply be to scare the birds away, he said.

Local wildlife ranger Ray Bellringer said the karate masters were unlikely to deter the Keas.

"They will fly around and laugh," he said.

The best method to prevent Keas from damaging vehicles was to squirt them with water pistols, he added.

Snuff- good news about the win and son playing ! smile.gif You will appreciate this one: FSU played Duke today on Duke's home court. FSU lost in overtime by one point. MrPie was ecstatic that FSU could even stay in the game with Duke. The big excitement around here today.

Glad SonAmy is feeling better after the cold pizza. Sons. We took TeenPie out to dinner last week; then he got a call from some friends about meeting up for Mexican food. He actually went and ate again ! Then wondered why he got sick in the middle of the night. rolleyes.gif

Something good finally happens in Detroit...

It's Superbowl Day!

From the Bayou Buzz:

While Aaron Neville might not be returning to New Orleans right now due to asthma, his silky voice along with Dr. John’s funk will remind the world that New Orleans has been in the deepest of funks due to a most unfortunate force of nature called Katrina destroying the futures of hundreds of thousands of innocent victims. Also taking the stage from Detroit will be Aretha Franklin.

Earlier this week Neville expressed his frustration for the many social, political and logistic issues besetting the city since the hurricane. It´s still sitting there, waiting for something to happen," he said. "It´s like sitting in limbo. It´ll take them a long time to get anything done."

Still, the NFL is taking its time to pay tribute to New Orleans. Also thanks to Commissioner Paul Tagliabue, the New Orleans Saints will be playing in the Superdome next year.

Despite Neville’s observations, New Orleans is making somewhat of a comeback. Later this month, it will be hosting its famed Mardi Gras. Following that event will be the world famous New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

New Orleans has hosted more Superbowl games than any other city in the league. It is a world class gesture by the National Football League, the City of Detroit and Paul Tagliabue to remind millions that New Orleans is trying to rebuild from one of the worse tragedies in the history of the world.

Thanks NFL...thanks... Sob.gif

Are we talked out on political issues here or is everyone working on his/her taxes?

At that early in the morning, I'd probably say that the keys are in the van, the Holiday gas station a mile down the road is open and there is change on the kitchen table. Then I'd give him a lecture on it being high time that he start showing some independence and self reliance. To make it interesting I'd tell him that when i was very young, I had to slap myself on the butt when I was born, change my own diapers and when I wanted milk in my bottle, I had to go to the barn and milk the cow myself.
