Whoohoo! Finally, after more than 2 years, i'm buying an old pickup to fix up. It's a 1955 Ford F-100 that has everything except the tailgate. With the exception of a few surface rust spots (Which i can easily fix), the thing is in clean condition... even the frame is clean. It looks as if it's been parked for quite some time... the plates on it are from 1977. In addition to it, it comes with a 1980 Crown Victoria with a 302 and a bunch of extra parts (Alot of which are for a 1959 Ford F-100 which i'll be selling on ebay). For those of you who don't know what a 1955 Ford F-100 looks like, take a look at this:

Mine, of course, doesn't look like this; although, after i'm done with it, mine will look like this.

If it's been parked that long it'll be a LONG project!

Yeah, it'll take awhile... but, it definitely will be worth it.

Ol' 55
(Tom Waits)

Well my time went so quickly,
I went lickety-splickly out to my old '55
As I drove away slowly, feeling so holy,
God knows, I was feeling alive.

Now the sun's coming up,
I'm riding with Lady Luck,
freeway cars and trucks,
Stars beginning to fade,
and I lead the parade

Just a-wishing I'd stayed a little longer,
Oh, Lord, let me tell you
that the feeling's getting stronger.

And it's six in the morning,
gave me no warning; I had to be on my way.
Well there's trucks all a-passing me,
and the lights are all flashing,
I'm on my way home from your place.

And now the sun's coming up,
I'm riding with Lady Luck,
freeway cars and trucks,
Stars beginning to fade,
and I lead the parade

Just a-wishing I'd stayed a little longer,
Oh, Lord, let me tell you
that the feeling's getting stronger.

And my time went so quickly,
I went lickety-splickly out to my old '55
As I pulled away slowly, feeling so holy,
God knows, I was feeling alive.

Now the sun's coming up,
I'm riding with Lady Luck,
Freeway cars and trucks,
freeway cars and trucks,
freeway cars and trucks...

Yeah, I knew someone who had one and it was his favorite (he could've gotten anything), but he also turned it into a sleeper. When you see one of those trying to sit up it's a sight to behold! Oddly enough his was red like your picture and he lived near the border of Paradise Valley and Scottsdale (around 44th).

Nice. Keep checkin every once in awhile. Some guy that lives by my father originally didn't want to sell his 66 Fairlane, but later decided to. He wanted way too much for it so we didn't buy it.

Wow, he lived relatively close to my work. I work at the 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright at Ford of North Scottsdale.

Something is way wrong with that truck's tires and/or suspension!

Get yourself a good set of springs / shock absorbers and some good beefy tires so you can go over speed bumps or any kind of bumps. Damn...

Here you go -- something like this:

MrJim
Or maybe this:

MrJim
Now this truck will get over the speed bumps.

MrJim
But best for getting through commuter traffic is one of these:

Are you going to customize your truck or pretty much leave it stock?

I'm not sure how much 10,000 is in American dollars; but, last i checked, there was a 1965 V6 Mustang for sale here in Arizona for $950.00. Although, it wasn't red and it was a coupe. No doubt about it, this car is a project car.

As a side note, on this website:

http://www.bossperformance.com/

I once saw a 1970 BOSS 429 that has 900 original miles on it! The owner actually walked it down the assembly line. This car is valued at over 350,000 dollars right now.

Well, i'm going to customize it by turning it into a hot rod (Kind of like the picture above); but, i'm not going to customize it to the length that some folks do. You know, where they make substantial changes to areas to the point where it no longer looks like a 1955 truck. The interior will look somewhat like this:

And the exterior will look somewhat like the pictures i posted above.
