What does the private sector do during Republican years? Is it just moderately depressing, or will there be an unmitigated attack on the advancement of professional women?
The FIRST thing bu$hit did when he was appointed in 2001 was shut down the office of women's initiatives. I don't know what that tells you but it tells me that he has no intention of doing anything to help women advance professionally.
As far as unmitigated attacks on the advancement of professional women in the private sector, that has been going on for decades - I've experienced it firsthand consistently since the 80s when I entered the workforce - no matter WHO was president. I will say that private sector (and gov't as well) hiring managers, CIOs, CEOs, CFOs, etc will more likely be EMBOLDENED further in thwarting the economic and professional progress of women in their companies now that a mysogenist like them runs this country. Things can only get worse with a Republican, Taliban-like administration. It wasn't necessarily worse with a Democrat in power, but it certainly is WORSE when a Republican is because they are notoriously mysogenist and think women should stay home barefoot and pregnant with no choices or opportunities in life and they have every intent and use every trick in the book and every ruse to try to force us back there. With Republicans in power, NOTHING will be done about it and it will get worse. With Dems in power, at least there is the possibility that something can be done, and the mysogenist corprats don't feel quite so emboldened to discriminate and thwart women in their companies.
