However, if all of you want to hop an Amtrak to Madison...Green Bay's only another three hours from there.

Where is everyone located? Billfmsd is from SD, WM and I are in OC, Skillet is in Tahoe, KT is in Ventura (home of our first convention) and Nates Daisy is in Modesto.

Count me in! Also Tahoe is a beautiful place to visit...would anybody want to have it here..I work for a casino..(the Lake is right here)..I would help with the organizing if anybody is interested. (whether here or someplace else.) Let me know..I don't want to miss this!

I'll probably be teaching Summer School until late July, so if it's out of the Southern California area and not part of a weekend, it'll have to be part of my vacation.

In other words, early August would work best for me, wherever we meet.

What about having it in Chicago?

I could potentially travel to Madison.

Tahoe might be good, too. Can we bring our children? I suppose I could work it to have a babysitter and just come out for a day or so.

PM me and let me know what day would work out best: August 11, 18, or 25. Last year our meeting lasted about half a day; several have said they'd like to have it a little longer- maybe for a full day. Last year we had 5 people, so how many for this year? Finally, one of our members has offered to cook hamburgers etc. if we want to have it in someone's house. With elections coming up a mere 9 weeks later, we can talk about some of the issues of importance to Californians.

WS, have you made a decision about the day yet?

We have to pick: August 5, 12, or 19. Saturdays all. Will be in Anaheim- at my house, maybe? More or less for the day. We need a concensus on the day. Time is wide open- probably from about noon to whenever.

Any of those days sounds good for me... I will be there.

I have to have a date ASAP, and would dearly love to come. Officially no vacation time from June 15th through September 15th, but if I start nagging early, I think I can pull it off...We need details folks, details..at least a date to start...

Are we going to play golf??

Only if you want to, Beamer. I don't play myself... but they have a good restaurant with an incredible view of the course.

Here's my house. We live on a private road called Via Encina on the map, but is really Nohl Ranch Rd.; the Anaheim Hills Golf Course is a few yards up the hill from us. That is where we would meet for a late breakfast. Dinner would be a bbq at my house.

Last year was quite informal, so don't feel you have to do anything special or wear anything expensive or exotic. We do have a community pool so bring a bathing suit if you wish.

I'd like to start getting a feel for who is planning on being here. Any vegans or vegetarians? Diabetics? Allergies?

I am seriously thinking about it, although I said that last year. I will let you know for sure before June 30. I do have golf clubs, but I'm not a very good player.

I tried to play for several years but was too embarrassed by my lack of skill that I flat out gave it up. If it's not fun then don't do it- and it wasn't fun. Can't say it ever was...

Last year was really cool... It is nice to put the faces with the personalities... my only complaint was that it was over too quickly. It would be so excellent if we could ALL get together... now that is something we should plan on before the 2008 election... yes?

Good question! There's you and VMaus- others need to climb on board. Skillet? Pie? KT? Terra? DWB04? FellowDemocrat? Everyone from everywhere is welcome! S'pose to be a cool day, and the BBQ will be on high speed... all the $2 Chuck you can drink.

I'll be at the golf course, in the coffee shop, with blue balloons, from 10 to 12. We'll retire from there to my house, which is a block away. We can head down to the pool if desired, so bring a suit. Spouses and young adult children welcome; probably not appropriate for young children.
