Truth and Reconciliation

What's the end goal of the fight for 9/11 truth and justice? Is it to see the perpetrators impeached and tried for their crimes, and then sentenced to life in jail? Or executed?

I think that's aiming too low. That's not going far enough.

Why? Because the gentlemen who carried out 9/11 will likely be replaced by some other corrupt, ruthless folks. Meet the new boss ... same as the old boss.

If all we do is punish the perpetrators, the spin will be it was just a "handful of bad apples". This is the same angle that was used on the grunts at Abu Ghraib, even though we now know that the orders for torture in Iraq came from the very top.

Sure, the 9/11 perpetrators apparently were at the very top. But a 9/11 criminal prosecution is more likely to sacrifice a couple of small fish than to point to the true ringleaders.

Further, many American military, intelligence and political folks are afraid to expose what they know about 9/11 for fear that it will plunge the country into chaos. As someone wrote anonymously in response to a previous essay:

"I think this is the key question. What would happen if this great crime were exposed and justice meted out to the many involved? How would the system be rebuilt and who would keep the broken pieces together during the healing process? Without some thought along these lines, many people will see exposing 9/11 as stepping into the abyss."

So unless we can provide a way to obtain truth and justice and save our country, many people with inside knowledge or who are in positions of power will hinder rather than help us.

Finally, even if the true leaders of 9/11 are prosecuted, other countries will just blame it on the "crazy Americans". Who cares about other countries? Well, countries all over the world have carried out operations like 9/11. And China will probably replace America as the world's leading superpower in twenty years or so. So even if the American leaders of the 9/11 attacks are brought to justice, it is likely that the true lesson of 9/11 will not be learned by others.

A Different Strategy

Some of the main 9/11 truth movers and shakers have suggested an alternative strategy: a 9/11 Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

As you may recall, South Africa set up a truth and reconciliation commission. The Commission granted amnesty to the people who committed brutal acts of murder and torture under the apartheid regime. I wasn't in South Africa at the time, but my impression is that the Commission helped South Africa heal its incredibly deep wounds quickly. Not only did the victims have a chance to tell their stories, but the people who carried out these horrible acts had a chance to confess in public.

Would the same work with 9/11? Maybe so.

What if the perpetrators of 9/11 and their assistants were granted amnesty from prosecution on the condition that they fully explain how and why 9/11 happened? The following might occur:

• Lower-level 9/11 conspirators would probably be more likely to come forward and tell what they know

• When they come forward, they are more likely to point their finger at the real masterminds of 9/11

• Seeing a way to support the truth without destroying the country, others who have knowledge of the true 9/11 facts -- even if they are not direct participants in 9/11 -- will be more likely to work publicly for truth and justice, instead of hindering us

• People in other countries will hear the true facts about 9/11, so that false flag terrorism will be less likely to be used in their countries

Less is More

Does this sound like I'm being soft on the criminals? Well, initially a 9/11 Truth and Reconciliation Commission would not grant amnesty to anyone who failed to fully confess. So let's say higher-level people did not admit their role in 9/11: they would be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law.

Moreover, sometimes less is more. Remember those Chinese finger cuffs you played with as a kid? If you tried to pull your finger out quickly, you got trapped ... but if you patiently pushed the ends towards the middle, you could free your finger.

Well, 9/11 may be like Chinese finger cuffs. If we insist on executing all of the perpetrators, the resistance might be so great that we stay "trapped" in the current "cuff" of immobilization and resistance to 9/11 truth.

But if we are a little more patient and a bit more intelligent in our approach, we might be able to "free" the forces of truth and justice, and free ourselves from the nightmare in which we are currently trapped.

We need to be fierce and unrelenting in our push for 9/11 truth and justice. And -- though it may seem paradoxical -- with a 9/11 Truth and Reconciliation Commission as an end-game, I believe we might get there alot quicker than if we demand the heads of all those involved in 9/11.

I am not talking about going easy on the bad guys. They've got to come totally clean or they get life in prison or worse. But I am talking about doing something that actually might work.

I'm also, frankly, talking about turning lemons into lemonade. 9/11 was an act of tremendous evil and deceit. But through the idea of a 9/11 Truth and Reconciliation Commission, we might be able to use 9/11 to wake up America and the world to the secret history of false flag terror, the true nature of governments and manipulation, and the possibilities for a better society. We might be able to confess our sins as a nation, and to -- perhaps for the first time ever -- truly start living up to the ideals expressed by the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

Timing

When is the time to hold a 9/11 "T &R" Commission?

Kevin Barrett, co-founder of Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth, argues that we cannot make a T & R real until we have more leverage. As Kevin told me in an email:

"You may recall that what caused regime change in South Africa was fear of increasing societal chaos and an eventual "bloodbath" -- and that the Truth & Reconciliation Commission was set up AFTER the regime change, as a way of exposing and healing past crimes. Having a new regime willing and able to prosecute the members of the old regime was a precondition to getting people to come forward in return for amnesty."

"I don't see how talking about T&R now is going to have much effect. Most of the population still hasn't understood the magnitude of the crime, and will have to work through feelings of anger when they do understand it. As I see it, the progression will be: first, a large enough slice of the population is howling for the perps' heads; then, regime change is forced on the perps by powerful but non-directly-complicit folks, backed by the angry masses and the prospect of an ungovernable society without a shred of governmental legitimacy; and finally, after the threat of prosecution is credible, T&R is set up to heal and get the full truth."

"So a big part of our job now is to take the fear/anger instigated by 9/11 and turn it into pure, righteous anger against the perps."

I think Kevin has a realistic view of the timing of a 9/11 Truth & Reconciliation commission. However, I also believe that by deciding on a T &R as our end-game, we can encourage some high-powered people -- perhaps including insiders to the 9/11 crimes -- into becoming allies in the struggle for truth and justice.

And by fighting courageously, tirelessly and fiercely for truth and justice, with compassion and mercy in our hearts, we will be acting according to the highest principles of what it means to be human, and we will bring about the best outcome for all.

Gen. Michael Hayden: Failure of NSA on 9/11

(EDITOR'S NOTE: The failure of the NSA and its head General Michael Hayden on 9/11 is the most ignored "9/11 connection." Did the NSA and NRO "stand down" on September 11, 2001 and why? Currently Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. Gen. Michael Hayden has also served as Commander of the Air Intelligence Agency and as Director of the Joint Command and Control Warfare Center. On May 8, 2006, he has been named by Bush as the next DCI (Director of the CIA)

More importantly, Hayden was also head of the National Security Agency (NSA) from March 1999 - April 2005.

The role of the NSA regarding 9/11 has been dismissed and ignored.
Why? Because apparently some '9/11 authors' and self-appointed '9/11 activist leaders'have been too distracted by 'CIA, Cheney and the Pentagon'.

Was the role of the NSA ignored to delay or distract from all physical evidence, based on military operations, scripted by the NSA and their private contractors?

The NSA, and also NASA had their eyes not only on the 9/11 "plotline"
but also on the "military operation" of 9/11 more closely than any other U. S. Government Agency.

The National Security Agency (NSA) has been a very early and sophisticated user of the highest performance technology
of commercial computer, storage, and networking systems, often provided by "private" companies. This includes also the Internet and the internet "daisy committees" of the NSA.

These are unidentified online trolls, which nicknames share different I.P. addresses, though only "one and the same user". However this "user", represented with a nickname is also able to post 24/7 on particular discussion boards, apparently without any sleep.

The NSA can also basically login and monitor all important databases of the U.S., especially aviation databases. Among them the National Flight Database (NFD).

Current data elements included are:
* Airports and Heliports,
* Standard Terminal Arrival Procedures (STARs),
* GPS and RNAV (GPS) or Runways for airports that have a SIAP coded in the NFD.


Would the NSA 'log in' on the morning on September 11, 2001? Of course, they would.

That's why they also know that the BTS database of the FAA already proves, that "AA77" and "AA11" did not exist on the morning of 9/11.

The NSA knew all alleged passengers on the morning of Sep.11.

They know this faster than the FBI or CIA.

They know which plane does exist and which doesn't.

They also know in real time, what really happened in NYC, Shanksville and at the Pentagon, because of less stress of 'competence'.

In other words, the NSA are the most important part of the perpetrators who "did 9/11".

"The CIA did 9/11" is instead distraction language of many "9/11 truthlings", based on a dried out old school meme of the 80s.

This meme often also includes other inane 'NWO'-drivel like endless distractions of esoteric traps like "MK-ULTRA" or "drug business", to water down the issue.

The 'CIA-talk' often distracts on alleged on-topic 'discussion forums' with other off-topics,which immediately deceive their online members with secondary 'research' or even pseudo-religious agenda, new age cults and other historical sideshows.

Often "CIA researchers" find themselves quickly among associates of "TWA800 researchers" or worse: "JFK researchers" or "moonflight hoax debunkers".

The strategy is obvious.

To distract from Sep. 11th with either paranoia or "80s conspiracy theories".

"The Mossad did it"-meme has a similar strategy, though it clearly distracts with other obvious agendas, often even conflicting each other, which has the same purpose: Divide and Conquer.

Right after 9/11, self appointed "Mossad researchers", often end up
in debates on historical research from over 2000-3000 years ago,
which is even more effective.

The 'CIA distraction' also helps to stir a fight between
the supporters of the 'mossad distraction' and the 'CIA-NWO' sensationalists, often also accused as "zionists", especially if you deny ANY complicity of the Mossad.

But what has 'complicity' to do with the actual performance of the inside operation?

Basically the same complicity of the so called '9/11 cover-up'
can also be easily constructed with the Dutch-, German-, Saudi- or Pakistani intelligence.

The result is an endless debate on whether the one or other agency had more or less participation into 9/11.

What almost noone realizes, all these 'complicities' refer in the majority to the plotline, not the military operation.

Therefore it doesn't matter if either CIA, BND, MOSSAD, Dutch Intelligence or "Able Danger" "observed" or "impostered" the alleged hijackers.

It all represents just the 'plotline' and distracts from
the controlled demolition or the so called "controversial" TV fakery research.

The "CIA connection" was also designed to distract from the Private Military- and intelligence Contractors (PMCs), which already replaced and dominated U.S. Intelligence anyway.

Another "distraction", not less effective, is the "Bush did it" meme,
which helps to distract with post 9/11' -"scandals" of the White House or Pentagon, to keep false hope campaigners or the complete 'anti-war movement' busy.

The same "Bush did it" meme also automatically triggers other inane 'activist drivel' on prior knowledge red herrings like Jeb or Marvin Bush.

That's why also so called left gate keepers are still clueless about the real players of many other new 'setups' against their own citizens. Among them are "private" companies like In-Q-Tel, Titan Corp., BoozAllen Hamilton, CSC/DynCorp, SAIC and many others.

The NSA has their own satellite surveillance trackers, developed by SAIC and other private intelligence contractors.

On the morning of Sep. 11th, the NSA did not follow any particular standard government- and military procedure or any other logistics, therefore it cannot be accused of "negligence".

There also was no "Rumsfeld around". Neither a silly "Rove influence", "Cheney" or "Joe Wilson", all carefully designed limited hangout puppets.

Truthlings and Gatekeepers apparently watched too many soap operas.
If the name isn't known to them, it isn't 'cool' to talk about.

That's why more important players of the 9/11 perps never arrived
on any '9/11 truth flyer', among them:

Jackson, the Naudet Brothers, the Club of Rome, Raytheon and many others.

That's why also the role of the NSA is underrepresented in this 'truth movement', because much closer to the truth than anyone else.

That's why cointel-pro still succesfully runs or deceives the biggest 'activist' groups in the 9/11 truth movement.

Anyone knows, that the Heritage Foundation runs meetup.com, where most of the 'activists' met in the first time?
Obviously the majority doesn't.

"Profile producers" are less important than "profile paranoia".


When 'Civil Right activists' try to distract with "controversial surveillance facts" on the NSA, they follow a clear script from their leadership groups, itself also infiltrated by government agents
or sponsored by right wing think tanks, ironically also often close to the CIA.

The same or similar pattern can be also seen in the 'alternative media'. Often cited in this connection:

* FAIR, Nation,
* PBS or
* truthout.org.

It not only helps as a gatekeeper distraction from 9/11, it also helps to increase the limited hangout agenda for the political theatre.


However the role of the NSA for both 9/11 'plotline' and 'military operation', but also 'disinformation front' and 'surveillance industry' regarding 9/11 'activists' is much more important.


It wasn't the CIA, but apparently the NSA with their most advanced high tech, which really was in charge of the so called "9/11 plotline".

However the official 'plotline' of 9/11 had nothing to do with the military operation.

The 'plotline' of 9/11 helped as most important distraction, even still in 2006.

While the 9/11 perpetrators used the CIA as helpful distraction idiots, the NSA knew exactly who observed whom
in the 'plotline' and when the 'military operation' would take place:

"Tomorrow is Zero hour" (September 10th, 2001)

The alleged suspects of 9/11 met next to Fort Meade.

Also, it was ex-NSA agent Linda Mills (BENS), who lived in the same city as some of the alleged suspects of 9/11.

And BENS helped creating the Tail to Tooth Commission, an important tool for the neocons and PNAC.

BENS is located in front of the White House (1717 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20570).

Chairman Stanley A. Weiss is a member of the Advisory Board of RAND's Center for Middle East Public Policy, a member of the CFR and writes for Journal sentinel.

Members of BENS are also:

* Norman R. Augustine (Director Lockheed Martin),
* avid S. Browning (Vice President of Schlumberger),
* Daniel H. Case, III (Chase),
* Rudy de Leon (Senior VP, Boeing),
* Victor Ganzi (The Hearst Corporation),

Significantly, all these companies have extreme close ties with particular elements of '9/11 research', some of them also
represent distractive issues like 'put options', 'war', 'media control' or 'oil industry'.

The "military operation" of 9/11 therefore also included a P.R. and media operation and was a close cooperation with their very own private military- and intelligence contractors:

AMEC

AMEC renovated the wedge of the Pentagon, which 'coincidentally' was attacked on Sep. 11th.

Then also AMEC was in charge to remove the rubble of the Pentagon, but also from Ground Zero.

Among other contractors: Tully Inc., which subcontracted Controlled Demolotion Inc.

HONEYWELL
Honeywell produced the cockpit recorder, which was officially found in Shanksville. Two Honeywell employees 'followed' the Colgan Flight of 'Mohammad Atta'.

WESCAM

A high tech military camera system (meanwhile belonging to L3 Communications), installed on an unidentified and prepositioned helicopter, which filmed the only available "live" footage of the 2nd attack.

This 'footage' was then exclusively wired to W-ABC (ABC7) which synched their final camera operator position feed 11 seconds (!) before the 2nd attack took place, with CNN, FOX and NBC. (CBS had no 'live aired footage')

Also, it was the hangar of the NASA (NASA Glenn Research) in Cleveland, where unidentified passengers of two U.S. flights (among them Delta 1989) had been interrogated by the FBI.

Strangely "Delta 1989" was only forced to land in Cleveland, because it had the same flight pattern as "United175", officially hijacked on that morning.

Oddly also the other flight was early identified as "United93",
confirmed by Mayor Michael R. White and 9News Staff (Liz Foreman),
which later denied the accurancy of their story.

The CIA was also used as a distraction for the 'limited hangout' to divert not only attention away from the NSA but also NRO and NIMA (later renamed into NGA).

The National Imagery and Mapping Agency was also known as "the 'eyes of America'

On August 8th, 2001 (two days after Bush received a new PDB with a clear warning on Bin Laden), James R. Clapper was announced as new head of NRO.

The countdown for 9/11 continued.

These 3 intelligence agencies had been already in charge during the mid 90s to develop a so called 'secret surveillance project', closely also linked to former Reagan's "Star Wars", which was in reality well known, even for U.S. Congress:

CHELON and PROJECT TRAILBLAZER.

During 1998/1999, under Bill Clinton, the NSA and NRO handed out their first contracts of "Trailblazer" to almost a dozen of less known private military- and intelligence contractors.

In the same years, controversy breaks out over the NSA "Echelon" project. U.S. Congress 'figured' a problem with Echelon and looked into it.

However in 1999 both General Hayden (NSA) and George Tenet (CIA) neither denied or confirmed the existance of Echelon and their sub contractors.

If they would have confirmed the existance of Echelon and its sub projects, noone would have believed into negligence on the morning of Sep11th.

The denial was therefore most important, because 9/11 was already in planning.

In March 2001, Logicon TASC officially announced their five-year,
$57 million contract for "Trailblazer".

'Logicon' was in reality a team of others:

"Logicon Task Team", part of Northrop Grumman, included Veridian (in 2003 aquired by General Dynamics),Advent Systems Inc., Mountain View, EDS, Advanced Engineering & Sciences, RDR Inc., SRS Technologies.

Another subcontractor of Logicon TASK (diff. sp.) became Modern Technologies Corporation (MTC) of Dayton.

MTC included Kenneth A. Minihan (ex-NSA, ex-DIA) and General Lawrence A. Skantze (ex -U.S. Air Force).

After Jim Hoffman plagiarized his 'wtc7' research from the '9/11 science and justice alliance', he oddly turned into a so called "planehugger" (supportive of the idea that a plane crashed into the Pentagon,

Back to 'Trailblazer':
Some parts of this program had been also developed in the very same wedge, which was attacked on 9/11.

The 'Pentagon attack' not only 'wiped out' the Office of Naval Intelligence, but also three employees of James Woolsey's Booz Allen Hamilton.

Woolsey (ex-CIA director and PNAC)'s company was working on "Trailblazer".

Also killed were two employees from BTG Inc., another sub contractor of Trailblazer.

Only 10 days after Sep11th, BTG Inc. was suddenly purchased by Woolsey's other former company, Titan Corporation.

Needless to say, Titan was another main contracter of Trailblazer
since 1998 (contracted by both NSA and NRO).

Coincidence?

What "role" did the NRO really play?

The NRO is main suspect among some '9/11 truthseekers' for the Pentagon attack, with the cover of a live terror exercise drill on the morning of Sep. 11th. Again, this also helped to re-establish the myth for an alleged commercial aircraft at the Pentagon.

A terrorist drill which was "cancelled", but in reality took place but didn't include a real plane either.

When the importance of the pre 9/11-terror drill research in general became more popular (among them also the terror drill exercise for the anthrax attack during June 2001, "Dark Winter"), 9/11 research frauds had to establish another plagiarization and distraction:

The so called "wargames-focus" and the alleged "Cheney mastermind" role was therefore created to divert attention away from the terror drill run-up for 9/11, and build yet another limited hangout.

Once again, the 9/11 truth movement was fooled and still is, because most of the 'wargame activists' ended up as 'peak oil fanatics' or started to talk about 'global warming' or 'alternative energy'.

Coincidence?

Not if you know, who and why these distractions had been scripted into this movement.

It helped to delay and later control the activists of the "controlled demolition".

It helped to either discourage or depress many 'activists' in general
or keep them busy with false hope campaigns.

And it helped to distract from NSA, NGA and NRO.

The researcher who found out about all this, was labelled
as "erratic". All other supportive associates labelled as 'wackos' or 'insane'. Case closed. But that was 2003/04.

Why is the NRO much more important than the CIA?

The NRO was established in 1960 to develop the nation's revolutionary satellite reconnaissance systems. It was endorsed by Dwight D. Eisenhower in February 1958 after the Soviet Union launched Sputnik, the first orbital satellite.

The existence of the NRO was declassified by the Deputy Secretary of Defense, as recommended by the Director of Central Intelligence on September 18, 1992.

The Director of the NRO is appointed by the Secretary of Defense

In late 2001, "Trailblazer" (just another sub project and codename of Echelon and others) was integrated into "Misty". The information was still 'classified'.

Finally during December 2004, the so called 'classified' project, popped up in U.S. mainstream media.

Now described as "controversial spy satellite program" or "stealth satellite program", it was debated by some U.S. congress members, among them Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon.

Finally General Michael Hyden (NSA) somehow confirmed, that this 'spy satellite program' was a cooperation between the NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency), the NSA and NRO.

Hyden also confirmed, that Lockheed was then picked as one of the main contractors for this Satellite Surveillance program.

On December 8, 2004, Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia,
the senior Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, "complained" ... that the spy project was "totally unjustified and very, very wasteful and dangerous to the national security."

Rockefeller and three other Democratic senators - Richard Durbin of Illinois, Carl Levin of Michigan and Ron Wyden of Oregon - refused to support this 'secret project'.

It took only 3 weeks to kill the debate and approve the project.

It was the result of an officially labelled 'natural disaster':

The Sumatra-Andaman earthquake, followed by a series of tsunamis throughout the Indian Ocean, killing large numbers of people and devastating coastal communities in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, and elsewhere.

Meanwhile, noone in U.S. Congress, especially 'since Katrina' argues about any 'satellite surveillance threat' anymore.

While so called 'weather modification theorists' are getting accused as 'paranoid' and/or 'without any evidence', the coincidental timing of these events should make some people think, especially since U.S. Congress already debating two Weather Modification Bills.

Meanwhile also Hayden has the guts to claim, "had this program been in effect prior to 9/11, it is my professional judgment that we would have detected some of the 9/11 al-Qaida operatives in the United States, and we would have identified them as such.."

But eco-, human right- and civil right activists are not getting the bigger picture, because the fundings of their biggest groups are already controlled by globalists -since decades! They rule the agenda, they rule the topics.

Google works together with the NASA.

In April 2004, google acquired one of the companies in which CIA firm In-Q-Tel invested, @Last Software. Google already acquired Keyhole, Inc., which was developed by In-Q-Tel as well.

The CIA doesn't care about all this?

It should therefore noone surprise, why noone wants to buy google.If it belongs to the NSA, it will be impossible.

Let's face it. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put the evidence together. They Let it happen. 9-11 was not only preventable, but allowed to happen.

Let me begin by asking a question: If you were President of the United States on September 11th, would you initiate an investigation to determine what security lapses had occurred to allow such a tragedy to unfold? Of course you would. The only reason you would try to prevent an investigation is if you had something to hide. If your house was broken into and your family murdered, would you ask the police to not investigate and try to block the investigation? NO. Unless you were somehow involved. How could anyone not wish to investigate what had allowed the 9-11 attacks to transpire?

This is exactly what George W Bush did. The Bush administration tried to prevent the formation of the 9-11 committee.(1) Why would the president not feel it was necessary to investigate this? George W. Bush tried to prevent the 9-11 investigation from happening. When that fight was lost Bush tried to appoint Henry Kissinger to head the commission. After worldwide howls of outrage and plenty of conflicts of interest questions about Kissinger, Kissinger was replaced by Thomas Kean. Bush then took steps at every turn to hinder the investigators.(2) At times, Bush even prevented the committee from having access to their own notes.(3) He even tried to prevent his National Security Advisor from testifying. When he finally relented on that, he tried to prevent her from being required to testify under oath.(4) Why would you ever set standards for ones testimony to not include the promise to tell the truth unless the truth would somehow be damaging to your official story? Finally, Condoleeza Rice did testify under oath. Of course, we know how much that oath means to this administration. President Bush has appointed several people to prominent government positions who have already proven their willingness to lie to Congress. Appointing convicted felons to government offices is bad. Appointing convicted felons guilty of lying to Congress (5) is to spit in the face of the American people and a blatant display of the disregard this administration has for our very democracy, Congress, Constitution, and the rule of law.

Of course, not everyone who testified was required to swear to tell the truth. Similar to the hemming and hawing over getting Rice to testify, George Bush and Dick Cheney were quite a pair. First they said they wouldn't testify. Eventually they gave in and agreed to testify only under certain conditions: only in secret, only in the company of each other, and (of course) without swearing to tell the truth. only in secret, only in the company of each other, and (of course) without swearing to tell the truth. (6) Word was never released if George was actually sitting on Dick's lap, but I have my suspicions. Is this the behavior of two men who have nothing to hide and have the best interest of the country at heart?

When George Bush was appointed to the Presidency, one of his first acts was to demote and reassign the man that President Clinton had promoted to a cabinet level position as terrorism czar. Under the Clinton presidency, this man, Richard Clarke, held weekly cabinet level meetings specifically on the threat of Osama Bin Laden. Those meetings we subsequently cancelled and Dick Cheney himself has been quoted as saying "Richard Clarke was kept "out of the loop".

Shortly before her performance for the 9-11 commission, (7) Rice wrote a March 22, 2004 column in The Washington Post (8) that said "No al-Qaeda threat was turned over to the new administration,". However, a January 25, 2001 memo penned by Richard Clarke (9) clearly states "We urgently need such a principals-level review on the al-Qaeda network" "We urgently need such a principals-level review on the al-Qaeda network" (9.5). Under oath, testifying before the 9-11 Commission, Condoleeza Rice claimed "...no one could have imagined planes being used a weapons..." (page 12) (10). We had a reference to the August 6th Presidential Daily Briefing entitled "Bin Laden determined to attack inside the United States". Rice referred to this as an "historical document'. We were led to believe that this was the only warning. It comes out now, that she was lying. Lying 52 times (11) over. Condi didn't disclose that they had, in fact, received 52 warnings (12) in the months leading up to September 11th. Yes, Condi lied under oath to a Congressional commission. With our knowledge of this administration's penchant for people willing to lie to Congress, it comes as no surprise that this National Security advisor who lied to Congress and oversaw the worst lapse of national security in the history of this country would now be promoted to Secretary of state.

So here we have an administration trying to prevent an investigation, stonewalling the investigators once the committee is formed against their best efforts, and outright lying under oath about having received 52 separate and specific warnings. What more could you possibly need?

How about a document signed by all of the people appointed to the top levels of the Whitehouse and Pentagon stating their agenda for invading and controlling the Middle east and their need for some sort of terrorist attack in order to facilitate the public support needed for such an agenda? Well, we have that too.

The Project for the New American Century was established in 1997 by Robert Kagan and William Kristol and funded by three foundations closely tied to Persian Gulf oil and weapons and defense industries. Calling themselves, "Neoconservatives" this small group of ideologues penned a Statement of Principles (13) outlining their plan for a New American Century wherein the United States, as the world's lone superpower would use its military might to topple regimes in the middle East and elsewhere that were unfriendly to U.S. corporate interests. On their website you can read their document Rebuilding America’s Defenses(14) ( .pdf format ). According to this document (page 52). "The process of transformation," the plan said, "is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor." American Free Press asked Christopher Maletz, asst. director of the PNAC about what was meant by the "need for a new Pearl Harbor"(15): "They needed more money to up the defense budget for raises, new arms, and future capabilities," Maletz said. "Without some disaster or catastrophic event," neither the politicians nor the military would have approved. The first leg of the PNAC imperialistic agenda was to secure the oil supply of the Middle East. As far back as 1998 The PNAC was pressuring President Bill Clinton (16) for the invasion of Iraq. Who belongs to this neoconservative think tank?

So here we have the top levels of the Whitehouse, Pentagon, and diplomatic bodies appointed by a President who displays a blatant disregard for Congress and the rule of law, who belong to a powerful and well funded organization who's agenda centers around the necessity of a "new Pearl Harbor" to fulfill their agenda, letting our defenses down in the face of 52 warnings of an impending terrorist attack, lying about it before Congress and the American people. If this doesn't exemplify every bit of evidence you would need to assume that the 9-11 attacks were allowed to occur, I don't know what else you could possibly need.

On a personal note, I don't believe that The Bush administration had knowledge of just how bad the destruction of 9-11 would be. I believe that they probably assumed that the attacks of 9-11 would be more on the level of the attack on the USS Cole. I don't have any reason to believe this, but I need to believe it. Just as many people need to believe that the Bush administration wouldn't consider the loss of human life as the cost of doing business. Unfortunately, by our observations of the invasion of Iraq and the coup in Haiti, (17) we know that is not the case.

A new video which purports to be surveillance video from the Pentagon Parking Lot is being released today after Judicial Watch pursued a court case to get its release. CNN discussed this video this morning, and will likely air it this afternoon. The government claims it didn't want to have it released until after the Massaoui Trial was concluded. It purports to put to rest "internet chatter" about whether Flight 77 in fact flew into the building. Stay tuned.

Pentagon to Release 9/11 Security Video

The Pentagon said Tuesday it planned to release video images of American Airlines Flight 77 crashing into the military headquarters building and killing 184 people in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The images, recorded by a Pentagon security camera, were to be released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch, a public interest group. The video had previously been leaked and publicly circulated, but this is the first time the government will have officially released the imagery.

The hijacked American Airlines plane slammed into the southwest side of the Pentagon at 9:38 a.m. EDT, shortly after two other hijacked airlines were flown into the twin towers at the World Trade Center in New York. The attack set off fires in a portion of the Pentagon and killed 125 people inside, in addition to those on board the plane.

"We fought hard to obtain this video because we felt that it was very important to complete the public record with respect to the terrorist attacks of September 11," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.

Pentagon Releases 9/11 Security Video

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Pentagon on Tuesday released the first video images of American Airlines (NYSE:AMR) Flight 77 crashing into the military headquarters building and killing 189 people in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The images, recorded by Pentagon security cameras outside the building, were made public in response to a December 2004 Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch, a public interest group. Some still images from the video had previously been leaked and publicly circulated, but this was the first official release.

The airplane is a thin white blur on the video as it slams into the Pentagon at ground level. Almost instantly a white flash and a huge orange fireball appear on the video, followed by a tower of gray-black smoke. One of the videos shows a Pentagon police car driving in the direction of the impact point shortly after the plane hit.


Traveling at an estimated 350 mph, the hijacked American Airlines plane plowed into the southwest side of the Pentagon at 9:38 a.m. EDT, shortly after two other hijacked airlines were flown into the twin towers at the World Trade Center in New York. The attack set off fires in a portion of the Pentagon and killed 125 people inside, in addition to the 59 passengers and crew and the five men who hijacked the plane at Dulles International Airport.


The Pentagon had previously refused to release the videos, saying they had been provided to the Justice Department as evidence in any criminal proceedings.


"We fought hard to obtain this video because we felt that it was very important to complete the public record with respect to the terrorist attacks of September 11," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.


Cheryl Irwin, a Pentagon spokeswoman, said families of the victims of the Pentagon attack were not consulted before the videos were released on the Pentagon's Web site.

I think you are correct there. Everyone is already saying that it's the same crap video of what was released before. And from what i have seen so far. I'd say that's right.
There are 80 or more videos........... Release them all. But even if it did show flight 77 hitting the Pentagon it's not proof that 9/11 wasn't an inside job.

At my age, my eyes are not the most disciminating sensors they used to be, and that fact isn't helped by looking at a video in a thumbnail window.

This "piecemail" revelation process is very suggestive... If they are not hiding anything, why don't they simply release all of the evidence and information? If they are hiding something, why and what?

Snuffy's post above, from Nico Haupt, brings to mind this earlier "piece" by Nico which precedes and complements the one above. Nico is seen by some in the 9/11 world as a "disinfo" agent or shill, and Nico himself , in this piece below, says that Arkin offers up "limited hang-out" information ( a term left over from the Watergate era in which the "culprits" offer up a limited admission wrapped around information designed to throw investigators off the trail). It worked then, and it's being used now, though it's getting really difficult to tell who is who.

On Friday Michael Hayden defended the "secret surveillance programs" he oversaw while head of the National Security.

What noone writes about, this isn't just a cover-up of some violations of privacy, it is strongly also connected with the cover-up of BOTH 9/11 plotline and military operation of 9/11, which included more than just 'controlled demolitions', apparent 'TV fakery" and some missiles.

It was a logistical operation on how to establish a complete paradigm change on surveillance and profiling.

As many 9/11 researchers concluded, also already the first attack on the Twin Towers was a false flag operation. In the very same year, the new generation of the Internet was born. The navigation tool Gopher was soon to be replaced with a "web browser".

In hindsight, both 'events' look already as the beginning for the logistical intelligence plannings for 9/11, which also included a major spy operation

One of their partners is VeriSign, a company which is specialised in security and traffic analysis.

Verisign created iDefense in May 1998 and is provider
of security intelligence for the U.S. Ggovernment and other governments.


On Board of Narus is William P. Crowell, an independent security consultant.

After 9/11 Crowell has served on the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Task Force on Terrorism and Deterrence, the National Research Council Committee on Science and Technology for Countering Terrorism and the Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age.

Less known is, that Narus also worked with the NSA, apparently right after the establishment of the first browsers for the internet (Mosaic, Netscape, both developed by Sun Microsystems)

Crowell actually had senior positions at the NSA, including Deputy Director of Operations and Deputy Director of the Agency.

Another Flashback:

On December 4th, 1981 by U.S. presidential executive order 12333, the NSA becomes a component of the Department of Defense. Headquarters for the NSA is at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

The origins of the NSA can be traced to an organization originally established within the Department of Defense, under the command of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as the Armed Forces Security Agency (AFSA), on May 20, 1949.

Officially the NSA was created on December 10, 1951 and then
authorized in a letter written by President Harry S. Truman in June of 1952.
Truman's letter was itself classified and remained unknown to the public for more than a generation.

The NSA was embroiled in controversy concerning its involvement in the creation of the Data Encryption Standard (DES), a standard and public block cipher used by the US government. During development by IBM in the 1970s, the NSA recommended changes to the algorithm.

Also the NSA has the ability to file for a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office under gag order.

Unlike a normal patent, the NSA's is never revealed to the public and never expires.

The NSA is also believed to be mainly responsible for, among other things, the operation of the ECHELON system, which has the ability to monitor a large proportion of the world's transmitted civilian telephone, fax and data traffic.

Less known than the directors of the NSA (once labelled as "no such agency"), are their Deputy Directors.

Since June 2000 that was William B. Black, Jr., formerly Director of Information Operations of SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation).

However since Black already worked for the NSA between 1959 and 1997, SAIC is also (without any confirmations) occasionally labelled as a front for the NSA.

Black became acting Director in 2005 when Lt. Gen. Michael Hayden left to become Deputy Director of National Intelligence.


In 1994, the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act was established.

It appears now, that since then the NSA worked with the NARUS STA-like systems to spy on U.S. Citizens.

Though there are less indications, on when actually the NARUS/NSA cooperation started, it is clear, that it was years before 9/11.

"Civil Right groups" allegedly fight for the rights and privacy of U.S. Citizens,

911Truth.org is disappointed that the Pentagon has released another video which does not clearly show a Boeing hitting the Pentagon. Despite the hyping of this release as offering 'definitive proof', we are surprised that this inconclusive video remained hidden to the American people for nearly five years.

Recall that www.Flight77.info documents two years of FOIA requests for “85 videotapes in the possession of the FBI” that pertain to the Pentagon strike. The site's proprietor, like the steering committee of 9/11truth.org, is hopeful that a release of this footage will show definitively that a plane hit the Pentagon so that distracting speculation about the Pentagon attack can cease. But today's video does nothing of the sort.

If the Pentagon and the Bush administration truly sought to offer clear evidence for the official story of the Pentagon strike, why would they choose to release images that resemble the previously released stills rather than the footage from the Sheraton, the Citgo gas station, or the Virginia D.O.T that presumably would show the events more clearly?

We will continue to relentlessly pursue a full investigation of the events surrounding 9/11 and seek justice for the victims, as clearly defined in our mission statement.

The 9/11 families were told by the 9/11 Commission that the Family Steering Committee's questions would be used as a roadmap for the Commission, and that their questions would be answered in the final report. Yet upon publication of the final report, it became clear that more than half of those questions had never been asked, let alone answered.

Furthermore, 9/11 widow Lori van Auken testified before hearings held by Rep. Cynthia McKinney in July of 2005 that the final report actually raised more questions than it had answered.

Some (like Fox News) who deride us for demanding a thorough, unbiased investigation attempt by doing so to shift the focus away from the valid concerns the family members and the 9/11 truth movement have sought answers to for more than four years. Others offer derision from ignorance. In both cases no useful purpose is served.

We hope the release of this video serves to refocus Americans’ attention on these unanswered questions. We also hope that the corporate media will cease equating all 9/11 skepticism with the claim that a plane did not hit the Pentagon. The credible challenges to the official story are multi-faceted and well-researched. All it takes is an effort to discover and report on them.

In this spirit, we call for journalists of integrity to turn their attention to the dozens of remaining unanswered questions surrounding the 9/11 attacks, many of which unfortunately support the view that elements within the government had foreknowledge of and may have been complicit in the attacks.

New Tape Stirs Up 9/11 Conspiracy Theories: Pentagon Video Officially Released


The minute the Pentagon released images of the Sept. 11 attack on its building, the message boards at ABCNEWS.com lit up with conspiracy theories.

Some blame it on an inside job by members of the Bush administration to benefit their business interests. Some say it was planned by neoconservatives to advance their worldview. Others don't know what happened but doubt the official story put forward by the government.

The world of conspiracy theories surrounding the Sept. 11 attacks is vast, and more than four years after the worst terrorist incident on U.S. soil, countless scenarios are put forth on the Internet, in academic forums and on talk radio each day. Some are of the "MIHOP" variety, which claim people in power made it happen on purpose, while others are of the "LIHOP" kind -- they let it happen on purpose.

With Tuesday's release of video footage of American Airlines Flight 77 crashing into the Pentagon building, an attack that killed 184 people on Sept. 11, questions rage again.

"It doesn't clarify anything -- I don't see a plane in that image," said Michael Berger, spokesman for 911Truth.org. "In fact, I thought that was underwhelming."

Berger said 911Truth.org "would like to see various conspiracy theories laid to rest as well" and does not believe the government has addressed "inherent contradictions" in evidence and testimony surrounding the events of that day.

"We would like to know what happened," he said. "Four-and-a-half years later, we still don't have definitive proof that a plane hit that building."

Berger said the group "has never said one way or another what happened at the Pentagon," but it did support the Freedom of Information Act requests that led to the Pentagon releasing the footage.

But 911Truth.org does believe Sept. 11 has been used as the "justification for broader policies," both foreign and domestic, he said.

Barrie Zwicker, a Canadian investigative reporter, documentary filmmaker and author of the upcoming book "Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-Up of 9/11," said the video does not answer the question of how any aerial vehicle -- "a 757 or a missile or a fighter equipped with a missile or a fighter alone or a blimp or a Cessna" -- could make it to the "central headquarters of the greatest military power that ever existed."

"Even if it was a model airplane, for God's sake," Zwicker said.

He also questioned the timing of the video's release.

"For them to be releasing this video so late, why so late and why now?" he said.

I watched it 4 times.

You can't really tell a thing that is happenning, other than some long white tubular object appears going from right to left, hits the building, and a big fireball goes up.

Can't tell if it's a plane or a missile.

That's the problem with security cams - - they are one or two frames a second.

Maybe the pentagon should find out where McDonalds gets their security cameras.

If the government didn't release this video because they were afraid of what it would show, apparently it doesn't show much of anything, so its release should have worried no one.

But then people will inevitably say that the video was doctored. Of course it could have been doctored a long time ago, even if they were taking their time, they could have released it after a few weeks. So saying that the government must have kept it under wraps because they were afraid of what it would show doesn't seem like a very compelling argument, one way or the other.

And people around here actually saw a plane going into the Pentagon, people commuting over the bridge between Virginia and DC. To say nothing of the plane wreckage around the Pentagon.

There are supposed to be 84 more videos. But.............what would it prove or dis-prove? It makes no difference to me whether or not a 757 hit the Pentagon. That has very little to do with 9/11 being an inside job. The military was "stood Down" on 9/11. They were fully aware that there were multiple hi-jackings in progress long before the Pentagon was hit.

At the very least I think that many of the 9/11 CT promoters have made a huge mistake in spending so much time on promoting the idea that a plane didn't really hit the Pentagon. It gives the impression that those promoting a CT theory will grasp any claim, not matter how poorly supported. And you cannot say that only a few advocates are pushing this idea, a high-profile book was written on this, which apparently was a best-seller in Europe. You keep hearing people pushing it, someone just called into Jerry Springer's show and said that he couldn't see how it was a plane.

A MadCowMorningNews investigation into the ownership of the DC9 airliner caught carrying 5.5 tons of cocaine in Mexico last month has uncovered explosive new details about some of the many lingering mysteries still surrounding the 9.11 attack.

San Diego defense contractor Titan Corporation, already implicated in the fraudulent bankruptcy of a shadowy St. Petersburg FL company which owned the DC9 "Cocaine One" flight busted in Mexico, employed a Lebanese contractor who assisted Mohamed Atta and other terrorist hijackers in Venice, Florida.

For Titan, the revelation marks the latest in a remarkable series of recent scandals, including employees charged with torture and rape at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, a record $26 million fine and conviction for fixing a Presidential election in the African nation of Benin, and growing infamy for being the biggest money backer of disgraced and soon-to-be-jailed former Congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham.

The story begins when, while researching “Welcome to TERRORLAND” three years ago, we discovered that Makram Chams, a Lebanese national, had provided significant logistical support for Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi.

Chams, we learned, had even entertained recently-convicted Zacharias Moussaoui in his apartment in Venice.


Breaking news from the forest where no one's around

Makram Chams owned a Kwik-Check convenience store in Venice, where the biggest overseas money transfer to the terrorists, $70,000 from the UAE., was sent, according to the testimony of FBI agents during the 9.11 Commission hearings.

Actually the FBI testimony never mentioned Chams, or his store.

They did however show the receipt for the money order at the final hearing of the 9.11 Commission, which we attended. And we were already familiar with the address where the money order went: 201 Nokomis Avenue.

Makram Cham's Kwik-Chek... Strangely, Chams left town soon after the 9.11 attack, abandoning a thriving convenience store which has stood vacant ever since.

In a story in the Sarasota Herald Tribune, reporter Earle Kimel, who first broke the story of Mohamed Atta’s American girlfriend, Amanda Keller, called Chams' abandoned store “A pocket of urban blight in the otherwise smartly tailored suit of downtown Venice.”


Just another freak coincidence?

An understanding of what Makram Chams had been doing while in Venice--and for whom--had eluded us, and been one of our biggest unanswered questions, one which might shed light on whether the U.S. Government possessed guilty foreknowledge--or even culpability--in the 9.11 attack.

Our search for Chams had been unsuccessful. No one knew where he was, or why he'd left. But now Chams has re-surfaced in Saudi Arabia, where he worked in an unlikely capacity: as a contractor for American defense firm Titan Corp.

News of Makram Chams' current whereabouts came to us when a researcher recently sent this addendum to Titan Corp’s 2005 SEC filing:

“On March 14, 2005, Makram Majid Chams, a former consultant of Titan filed a claim with the Preliminary Committee on Labor Disputes Settlement in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Chams alleges that Titan wrongfully terminated his consulting agreement and that he was defamed by Titan's publication in a local newspaper of a mandatory notice that he is no longer representing Titan. The plaintiff is seeking approximately $21.9 million in damages. We intend to defend our position vigorously.”

Was the man suing Titan in Saudi Arabia, “Makram Majid Chams,” the same "Makram Chams" who'd lived in Venice?


Only a dunsky could doubt it

The answer was 'yes.' A marriage announcement in the Sarasota Herald Tribune from January of 1998 gave us the full name of the Makram Chams who'd lived in Venice, identical to the name of the man suing Titan in Saudi Arabia.

“Makram Majid Chams,” said the announcement, had married “Rim Ghazi Abou Zein, both of Venice.”

The news was nothing short of astonishing. The man who'd assisted terrorist hijackers in Venice...working for an American defense contractor in Saudi Arabia? What was Chams doing for The Titan Corp? What made him think they owe him $22 million dollars? And most importantly...

Was Makram Chams already working for Titan while in Venice?

While we didn’t know the answers to any of these questions, one thing we did know was that Bob Woodward would not be on the case. The major media steered completely clear of stories about what was clearly the biggest 9.11 crime scene that wasn't reduced to rubble: Venice, Fl., home to three of the four terrorist pilots.

We decided to take a closer look at Makram Chams.


Hangin' with the 'Mak Jack' Attack

A Venice Yellow Cab driver, Bob Simpson, first told us that the Middle Eastern man who owned the convenience store had been close to the hijackers, and that Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi frequently met at an apartment in Venice which he rented. (Watch him talk about it.)

Simpson had been questioned closely by the FBI three days after the Sept. 11 attack. “I heard a voice say ‘this is Special Agent Joe Anderson from the FBI calling,’” he told us. “My heart sort of skipped a beat. Then he said, ‘Don’t worry, you haven’t done anything wrong.’”

“He asked if I’d seen pictures of the terrorists, and if I had, wanted to know if I recognized any. I said yes, I recognized Mohamed Atta. I’m the day driver for Yellow Cab in Venice, and he was in my cab a bunch of times in August,” cabbie Simpson explained. “The night driver had him even more than I did.”

Simpson picked up Atta at the convenience store owner’s apartment on several occasions. He told the FBI he had been asked to drive to Orlando by a relative of the Middle Eastern man who owned the convenience store.

“Their (the terrorists) best friend used to live upstairs on the second floor,” stated Simpson, pointing to the Burgundy Square Apartments in downtown Venice. I saw Atta and Al-Shehhi there.”

“They were always hanging out together at the store. Most of the time, I’d be called by their friend, or they would call saying pick them up there at the market.”


Dead eyes then, Dead everything now

That the terrorist hijackers spent much time hanging out in Makram Chams' Kwik-Check was independently confirmed by numerous observers, including a local psychiatrist who contacted us recently.

“Nokomis Ave runs right behind the hospital in Venice,” stated the psychiatrist. "Each day as I left the hospital for the office I'd head north on Nokomis. At the corner of Nokomis and Miami there was this little (Kwik-Chek) convenience store run by middle-eastern types.”

“Half the time I'd be late for the office and I'd stop in there and grab something awful for lunch. A woman and a large man were usually behind the counter. Some days I'd go in there and no one would be behind the counter but there would be loud talking in the back.”

“A few times I saw Atta in there, hanging around. Once I made eye contact with him—dead on! Emphasis on "dead" because when we locked eyes a chill went through me and I thought: "He's got 'dead' eyes."

“When you become a shrink you sometimes get attuned to what might be going on with a person just from seeing how they look—their faces and eyes—on the street or in public. The chill I got when I saw Atta was not the chill of fear. It was a chill about how sick he looked. He looked to be one of the most depressed persons I'd ever laid eyes on.”

“He looked so depressed that it was as if he was already gone. In retrospect I feel he may have been just as happy to die for the sake of ending it all as he was to die for Allah.”

“A couple of weeks after 9/11 the convenience store closed up,” stated the psychiatrist, who has since moved out of state. “I was down there last summer visiting the old psych unit crew, nurses and staff, at a yearly reunion at Sharkey's, and the store was still closed up. I found a reference to the store on the TERRORLAND website, and it got me thinking.”

“I wish I'd paid more attention back then… but who knew?”


Who was the Saudi in Armani and shades?

Cabbie Simpson told of how he had picked up a wealthy Saudi businessman at the Orlando Airport after picking up the convenience store owner at the apartment in Venice. The FBI expressed interest in the rich Saudi, he said.

“They were especially interested in a rich Saudi guy that I’d been sent to pick up at the Orlando Airport. They said they already knew that he'd ridden in my cab because they’d gotten my cab number from a surveillance camera at the airport.”

“He flew in on a private jet, and was dressed in Armani and shades, with his wife, who wore traditional Arab clothing. After clearing international customs, they proceeded back to a Venice apartment rented by the convenience store owner.

Six weeks later, he drove the wealthy Saudi's wife back to the Orlando Airport, Simpson told the FBI. Again they left from the convenience store owner's Venice apartment. When he arrived to pick up his fare, Simpson was asked to come up to the apartment to help carry a chest down to the cab.

“The chest was so heavy it took two people to carry,” Simpson said. "A big bald guy who was there helped me carry the chest down.” The man who helped him carry the chest down the stairs to the cab, said Simpson, was Zacharias Moussaoui.


A fungible commodity useful everywhere

Cabbie Simpson had been so clearly impressed with how heavy the chest had been that we too were intrigued. We called a man we knew to have worked for many years in American intelligence to ask what he thought made the chest so heavy.

“Gold,” he replied immediately. “There was gold in that chest.”

The identification of Moussaoui in Venice confirmed what we had reported exclusively nearly four years ago, when we learned that the second Dutch national flight school owner at the Venice Airport, Arne Kruithof, was questioned for two days by officials taking depositions from potential witnesses in Moussaoui's trial.

Further confirmation of Moussaoui’s presence in Venice came much later from an unlikely and usually highly-dubious source: Rudi Dekkers.

Continuing the FBI cover-up about the terrorist’s activity in Venice, jurors in the trial of Zacharias Moussaoui were never told that Moussaoui had been there.

They did however, hear testimony which confirmed the allegation in “Welcome to TERRORLAND,” of a systematic cover up by the FBI of the fact that Venice was the terrorist’s main base of operations.


In February 2001, the jurors were told, Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi had been spotted in Clearwater Florida flying a single-engine plane registered to Huffman Aviation...almost two months after the FBI’s official chronology states Atta left Venice and Huffman for good.

We had initially thought that Makram Chams was probably an Arab operative sent in early to smooth the way for the hijackers.

Then we discovered that Chams had been a PARTNER in 1997 and 1998 in a gambling boat called “Vegas in Venice,” which cleaned up in Venice for two years.

This information only added to our puzzlement. We wondered: Where does an immigrant, bootstrapping himself up in America through the time-tested method of owning a convenience store, get the JUICE to be a partner in a gambling boat?

The controlling partner in the gambling ship in which Makram Chams was a partner is Ian Goldfarb, from Gladwyne, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia.

The only other local partner in the casino ship, we were shocked to discover, was Max Burge, who we’d interviewed during research for “Welcome to TERRORLAND,” because Burge owned the planes used at Huffman Aviation.

Small world. But it soon got even smaller…

Frederic Geffon from “Royal Sons,” the aggravated part-owner of “Cocaine One,” told us that he had done business with Burge.


The San Diego FBI: Confidential informants you can trust!

Royal Sons had used the address of Huffman Aviation’s hanger at the Venice Airport in a few airplane ads. This is inexplicable, at least it is to Royal Son's Frederic Geffon, who denies ever placing plane ads with a Venice Airport address. His denial rang a little hollow with his claim that anyone could have placed ads claiming to be him.

Possible, perhaps. But also, we think, highly unlikely.

We finally found someone who knew what had happened to Makram Chams. It was his sister, May Chams. She was then working at the same pharmacy in Venice where we discovered, much later, that Mohamed Atta had brought his father, less than two weeks before the attack. We persisted in questioning May, in the face of her obvious hostility, and were finally rewarded.

“Mak is in San Diego," she told us,"helping the FBI.”

Only now does her statement make sense to us. But, if Makram hotfooted it to San Diego on “business” after the 9.11 attack, it would be a strong indication that he had a relationship with Titan Corp... while he was still in Venice.

As it turns out .. Judicial Watch is essentially funded by Donations from 3 independent foundations. These foundations also give large amounts of money to conservative think tanks. Two of the the three foundations are essentially the same foundation set up by Billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife (yes of the famous Mellons... Carnegie Mellon, tycoon etc.. ) he owes his fortunes to Banking, Aluminum, NewsMax media outlet and bum bum bum ... you guessed it Oil.

Scaife used his media outlet as well as donations to help start Judicial Watch in 1994 .. this was all an attempt to remove President Clinton from office for illegal fundraising activity.

The other foundation giving money to Judicial Watch is the John M. Olin foundation. Established by the owner of Olin Industries ...a Chemical and Munitions manufacturing business.. which at another point in time donated money to fund "studies" that argued for relaxing laws about concealed weapons.

The World Trade Center Dust

The immediate damage brought on by the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings both in property damage and the death of nearly three thousand people is a reality most people are aware of. However the attacks of September 11th were in effect a two tiered attack, a two headed snake if you will. Currently, the majority of the victims died on that fateful morning when the twin towers collapsed. But recently, first responders and construction workers who spent time at ground zero have begun to report illnesses related to the toxic dust that was World Trade Center One, Two, and Seven. The disintegration of the three World Trade Center buildings released an enormous amount of highly toxic dust which has caused health complications, birth defects, and death among the first responders, construction workers, inhabitants of New York City, and to babies whose mothers were exposed to the dust while pregnant.

When the Twin Towers collapsed they literally disintegrated. Just about everything inside the buildings was obliterated and turned into dust, humans included (particles of human bones have been found in the lungs of some firefighters). “Hundreds of thousands of pounds of lead, mercury, benzene, and dioxin were released into the air at levels above federal safety standards,”(Rayman. Firefighters said they didn’t find big chunks of concrete, human remains, furniture, office equipment, nothing, just dust, 30 foot sections of steel, and small pieces of rubble. The concrete was turned into very fine particles of dust along with all the computers, furniture, paint, fiber-glass insulation, glass, metal, paper, office materials etc. “A grim list includes lead from 50,000 computers, asbestos from the twin towers’ structures and dangerously high levels of alkalinity from the concrete,”(Shukman). This large quantity of poisonous dust quickly spread beyond the collapse zone and engulfed Manhattan in less than a minute. All of this matter was suspended in the atmosphere in the form of extremely poisonous dust, and was ingested involuntarily by thousands of people. “John Howard, director of the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, told the British broadcaster 30,000-50,000 people may have been exposed to WTC dust,”(Benton). People exposed to other individuals covered with this dust were also adversely affected. “A woman who cleaned the dust-contaminated shoes of office workers has asthma, glaucoma and spots on her body,”(Rayman). Samples taken from articles of clothing worn by individuals covered in the dust revealed extraordinary levels of toxins.

“The total element compositions of the dust samples reflect the chemical makeup of materials such as: glass fibers (containing silicon, aluminum, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and other elements); gypsum (containing calcium and sulfate); concrete and aggregate (containing calcium and aluminum hydroxides, and a variety of silicate minerals containing silicon, calcium, potassium, sodium, and magnesium); particles rich in iron, aluminum, titanium, and other metals that might be used in building construction; and particles of other components, such as computers, etc. Organic carbon in the dusts is most likely from paper, wallboard binder, and other organic materials. Possibilities include metals that might be found as pigments in paints (such as titanium, molybdenum, lead, and iron), or metals that occur as traces in, or as major components of, wallboard, concrete, aggregate, copper piping, electrical wiring, and computer equipment.”(USGS report) The amount of highly toxic materials is astonishing and was recorded as being 65 times normal level, the highest levels ever recorded. Rubble under Ground Zero burned for months straight, molten steel was reported under the wreckage of buildings 1, 2, & 7. This persistent fire continued to release poisonous toxins into the environment for months after the initial attacks. “The combination of high toxin levels with the heat from the fire created all the necessary ingredients to generate an unprecedented amount of carcinogens,”(Rayman). In this next quote we see clear evidence that the majority of these people suffered illnesses caused by breathing in the dust and other toxins. “About 75% of workers treated report persistent upper-respiratory ailments, such as sinus infections; 44% have lung complaints; and 40% have problems with mental health,”(Szabo). The Environmental Protection Agency, New York City, and companies that supervised the clean-up said the air was safe to breathe which subsequently led many people working at ground zero to decide against wearing a respirator. “A good number of New York firefighters didn’t wear protection. Jack Ginty said, workers would have taken more precautions had they known the dangers. People were asking, ‘Is this safe?’ … and we had the EPA saying, ‘Oh, yeah, it’s fine’, he said,”(Ruelas). Exposure to crystalline silica dust, such as concrete dust, can produce silicosis, a dust disease of the lung. Inhalation of dusts that contain crystalline silica has also been associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchitis, tuberculosis, and lung cancer. “I wonder if in 10-15 years from now, am I going to be another victim?” (Benton). The fate of most of these people has yet to be decided and asbestos causes Mesothelioma, a cancer, which does not appear in its victims for as long as, or longer than a decade.

“The number of people with medical problems linked to the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on New York has risen to at least 15,000, the BBC reported. That includes people suffering so-called “World Trade Center cough” from breathing Ground Zero dust,”(Benton). Rescue and construction workers continue to experience severe health problems, most notably what has come to be called the World Trade Center cough. Some of these workers were so damaged they could not return to work and had to retire. “Jeff Endean used to be the macho leader of a police Swat firearms team. Now, he has trouble breathing and survives on the cocktail of drugs he takes every day. Kelly Colangelo, an IT specialist, used to have good health but now endures a range of problems including allergies and sinus pain. Both are victims of what used to be called “World Trade Center cough”, an innocuous sounding condition that many thought would pass once the dust that rose from the attacks of 9/11 had blown away.”(Shukman) The World Trade Center cough may very well turn out to be a bigger killer than those who perpetrated the attacks.

When the construction started asbestos was used in roughly the first one third of the buildings, but was stopped from being used in the rest of the construction because of new regulations against it. All of this asbestos was of course still in the buildings when they collapsed (note that building seven was built in the 80’s and did not contain any asbestos). “Pleural Mesothelioma is an asbestos-related cancer with a median survival of 8 to 18 months,”(The New England Journal of Medicine, 2). Containment of asbestos is regarded as critically important and necessary in most industrialized countries, as it is recognized to cause cancer. “Unfortunately, among the millions exposed occupationally in the past who remain at high risk and the millions of those with less exposure who remain at finite but smaller risk, mesothelioma - with its decades-long latency - still looms as a dread possibility,”(The New England Journal of Medicine, 1). It is significant to note that hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars would be required to remove the asbestos from these buildings had they not been destroyed.

A whole range of birth defects among babies born to women exposed to the World Trade Center toxins while pregnant has been observed. “Air pollution from the World Trade Center attacks may have resulted in smaller babies among pregnant mothers who were in or near the collapsing towers, preliminary research suggests. Exposed pregnant women in the study faced double the risk of delivering babies who were up to about a half-pound smaller than babies born to non-exposed women,”(Associated Press). Five years have passed since the attacks and as these children grow older I suspect more illnesses will reveal themselves.

The attacks of September 11th were devastating in many different ways. Health problems among the volunteers working at Ground Zero surfaced soon after 9/11 and have begun to end those individuals lives. It is extremely important we as Americans research and fully understand the events of 9/11. Health problems and deaths related to September 11th continue to increase every day. This fact is under reported and understated. It is my belief that our government needs to be held up to scrutiny in regards to that world altering day and be held accountable for its actions and inactions.

Doctor details findings of study on health of 9/11 rescue workers

TYLER — More than 300 firefighters died trying to rescue victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Hundreds more can no longer work as firefighters because they can't make it up a flight of stairs without wheezing.

Dr. Stephen Levin, the medical director of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, presented findings of a two-year study on the 9/11 responders Friday at the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler.

Levin said many of the responders, including firefighters, law enforcement officers, medical professionals, construction workers and utility workers, suffer from persistent respiratory illnesses because of the toxic particles they inhaled after the towers were struck by airplanes.

Musculoskeletal injuries from falls and falling debris plague responders almost five years later, he said.

His discussion touched on the psychological effects of the search and rescue and cleanup, as well. About 8 percent of the 1,100 initial patients seen at the Mount Sinai clinic expressed thoughts of suicide, Levin said.

From July 2002 through July 2004, Levin's clinic and other clinics in the area evaluated and treated almost 12,000 World Trade Center responders.

He began his presentation, which was part of a daylong "Current Occupational Health Issues" conference at the health center, by showing photographs of rubble, smoke and fires at ground zero. About 40 health care workers attended the conference.

"This picture was taken in the afternoon of Sept. 11. It looks like dusk because there's so much airborne materials. There was a tremendous release of pulverized construction materials," Levin said.

Pulverized cement and gypsum were the most harmful particles inhaled by responders, Levin said. Pulverized glass, asbestos, silica, acid mist (from burned plastic furniture and pipes) and heavy metals, such as lead and mercury, also were among the toxic inhalants at the site.

Cement particles were corrosive and burned the lungs, he said.

Levin showed another photograph of a line of firefighters crawling on top of debris toward a thick cloud of smoke.

"No one (in the photo) despite this haze of dust was wearing what we would call adequate respiratory protection," he said.

He said responders on the day of the attacks had no respiratory protection. On the second day, firefighters were issued masks, but many didn't wear the gear because it prohibited responders from communicating with the other rescue workers. Some workers didn't know how to use them.

Some people wrapped cloths around their faces, but that actually did little to protect them from inhaling fine particles, Levin said.

He said residents who lived near the site were exposed when they returned to their homes a couple of weeks later. Schoolchildren also have experienced health problems related to the debris.

Levin said he saw one patient, an emergency medical technician, who was training for a marathon before September 11. The man had never had respiratory problems until that day. He now has asthma.

Levin said the Environmental Protection Agency informed people that the airborne conditions were safe during the days after the attacks, but the results of Mount Sinai's study prove otherwise.

"Their air monitoring looked good, but we had sick patients. We're still following patients and still seeing high rates of respiratory problems. This problem is not over for that responder community," Levin said.

Did you ever stop and wonder where you might be were it not for Officer Obie? After all, if it weren't for Obie, Arlo may not have written Alice's Restaurant. If Arlo never wrote Alice's Restaurant, would his career have followed the same path that it did? It's possible that it wouldn't have. And if Arlo never became "famous", this site would have probably not existed. And if this site didn't exist, you wouldn't be here right now! So who said that one person can't change the world! And we owe it all to Officer Obie...who probably had no clue of the repercussions of what he was doing at the time he arrested Arlo!
After arriving at the above conclusion of just how important Officer Obie really was, it saddened me to find very little information about the man. About the only account of Obie that I was able to unearth was the song Alice's Restaurant itself! This page is here to pay tribute to a man who changed and touched the lives of many people whom he probably never even met. So, the next time you sit down to a donut and cup of coffee, pause for just a moment...and remember Obie!

The following is paraphrased, rearranged and added to from an article by Linda Ellerbee:

We all know the story now (some of us by heart) of how Arlo was arrested by Officer Obie for littering. He had to pay a fine and pick up the garbage. Years later, when the arrest showed up on Arlo's record, he was, through the kind of bureaucratic silliness that only government can truely embrace, deemed unsuitable for military service. To paraphrase Arlo, they decided he wasn't fit to go to Vietnam and kill a bunch of people because he was a litterbug. It was a perfect story of the time.

Following the success of Alice's Restaurant the song, came Alice's Restaurant the movie in which both Arlo and Obie played themselves. Here was one cop who seemed to have a sense of humor, or at least a sense of proportion, about the late '60s version of American reality, which was not a pretty sight. If nothing else, he helped to blur the lines between "them" and "us" which was often needed at the time.

Officer Obie was a member of the Stockbridge police force for 34 years, and a model for several Norman Rockwell paintings and Saturday Evening Post covers. But, again, reality was something more, and less.

Ask the people of Stockbridge what Obie was like and you'll get answers like "Bill was a big-hearted fellow and a good cop." or "He was the patron saint of every dog in town; he never once enforced a leash law."

And then you hear that Officer Obie's life (and family) was touched by alcohol, divorce, and suicide. You learn that in 1985, he was forced into retirment after being accused of hitting another officer during a discussion about the unauthorized use of a police car. They say he was drinking at the time, but they don't say it loudly.

So which was the real Officer Obie? As with any of us, the reality of Bill Obanhein was not as easily defined; the man had parts to him. But the part most likely to be remembered is the gruf-voiced, warm man who could laugh at himself. The Officer Obie part. The Norman Rockwell part.

N A city still emerging from the floods of Hurricane Katrina, a ship has begun to rise from the ashes of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Bringing together America’s two great calamities of the 21st century, the USS New York is being built in New Orleans with 24 tonnes of steel taken from the collapsed World Trade Centre.

There is no shortage of scrap metal in New Orleans these days, but the girders taken from Ground Zero have been treated with a reverence usually accorded to religious relics. After a brief ceremony in 2003, about seven tonnes of steel were melted down and poured into a cast to make the bow section of the ship’s hull.

Some shipworkers say the hairs stood up on the backs of their necks the first time they touched it. Others have postponed their retirement so they can be part of the project.

One worker, Tony Quaglino, said: “I was going to go in October 2004 after 40 years here, but I put it off when I found out I could be working on New York. This is sacred and it makes me very proud.” Glen Clement, a paint superintendent, said: “Nobody passes by that bow section without knocking on it. Everybody knows what it is made from and what it’s about.”

The ship is being built by Northrop Grumman on the banks of the Mississippi. It should be ready to join the US Navy in 2007.

Later vessels in its class will include USS Arlington — named after the section of the Pentagon that was also hit by an airliner on September 11 — and USS Somerset, in memory of United Flight 93, which crashed in a field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, on the same day as passengers struggled with al-Qaeda hijackers.

Mr Clement said it would be fitting if USS New York’s first mission was to capture Osama bin Laden. He said: “They hit us first, but out of a tragedy a good thing has come, in that we’re building a ship which can help take those people out.”

The $1 billion vessel is one of a new generation of amphibious assault ships capable of landing a 700-strong Marines assault force on a coastline almost anywhere without the need for a port.

Woody Oge, Northrop Grumman’s director of operations in New Orleans, was keen to play down suggestions that the ship might be used to spearhead invasions.

He pointed out that LPD vessels had been used as much for humanitarian assistance as for war. One such ship, USS Boxer, was dispatched to help to deal with the aftermath of Katrina.

Although the hurricane smashed its way through the shipyard last summer, the half-completed New York survived intact. The same cannot be said for the homes of some of its builders. About 200 are still living at the shipyard in the hastily set up “Camp Katrina”.

They include Earl Jones. More than eight months after Katrina, he does not know if his home in the Lower Ninth ward will be rebuilt. “The insurance company won’t even talk to us,” he said. “We’re having to hire lawyers to chase ’em. I don’t like this, but I don’t want to be out of work.”

Mr Jones’s wife was evacuated to Baton Rouge and is seriously ill with breast cancer and pneumonia. He said: “She ain’t handling very well me being away all the time.”

Katrina and 9/11 are two disasters that continue to produce very different responses from America. Mr Jones does not want his old home enshrined in a $1 billion fighting machine, but a small cheque from the insurance firm might help.

Zogby Poll:
Over 70 Million American Adults Support New 9/11 Investigation

(PRWEB) - Utica, NY (PRWEB) May 22, 2006 -- Although the Bush administration continues to exploit September 11 to justify domestic spying, unprecedented spending and a permanent state of war, a new Zogby poll reveals that less than half of the American public trusts the official 9/11 story or believes the attacks were adequately investigated.

The poll is the first scientific survey of Americans' belief in a 9/11 cover up or the need to investigate possible US government complicity, and was commissioned to inform deliberations at the June 2~4 "9/11: Revealing the Truth, Reclaiming Our Future" conference in Chicago. Poll results indicate 42% believe there has indeed been a cover up (with 10% unsure) and 45% think "Congress or an International Tribunal should re-investigate the attacks, including whether any US government officials consciously allowed or helped facilitate their success" (with 8% unsure). The poll of American residents was conducted from Friday, May 12 through Tuesday, May 16, 2004. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of +/- 2.9. All inquiries about questions, responses and demographics should be directed to Zogby International.

According to Janice Matthews, executive director of 911truth.org, "To those who have followed the mounting evidence for US government involvement in 9/11, these results are both heartening and frankly quite amazing, given the mainstream media's ongoing refusal to cover the most critical questions of that day. Our August 2004 Zogby poll of New Yorkers showed nearly half believe certain US officials 'consciously' allowed the attacks to happen and 66% want a fresh investigation, but these were people closest to the tragedy and most familiar with facts refuting the official account. This revelation that so many millions nationwide now also recognize a 9/11 cover up and the need for a new inquiry should be a wake up call for all 2006 political candidates hoping to turn this country around. We think it also indicates Americans are awakening to the larger pattern of deceit that led us into Constitutional twilight and endless war, and that our independent media may have finally come of age."

Poll co-author, W. David Kubiak concurs, saying: "Despite years of relentless media promotion, whitewash and 9/11 Commission propaganda, the official 9/11 story still can't even muster 50% popular support. Since this myth has been the administration's primary source of political and war-making power, this level of distrust has revolutionary implications for everyone working for peace, justice and civil liberties. If we ever hope to reclaim this country, end aggression and restore international respect, we all must finally scrutinize that day when things started to go so terribly wrong. The media and movement leaders ignore this call at their peril, because tens of millions are clearly telling us here they are ready for 9/11 truth."

SCOPE: The poll covered five related areas:

1) Iraq - do Americans think the Bush administration exploited 9/11 to attack Iraq? (44% do, 44% don't);

2) Cover up - did the government and its 9/11 Commission conceal or refuse to investigate evidence that contradicts their official story? (only 48% said no);

3) the collapse of WTC 7, which was not even mentioned by the 9/11 Commission and has seldom been reported in the media---had respondents been aware of this collapse and, if so, did they think it should be investigated (only 52% had known about it, but over 70% of this group believe it should have been investigated);

4) new investigation of official complicity - do respondents think we need one? (only 48% said no); and

5) mass media - how do people rate its performance, including its coverage of alternative 9/11 theories, unanswered questions and inquiry issues? (43% rate it positively, 55% negatively).

(The poll sponsors see knowledge of the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 as a bellwether issue, because if people do not know this elementary fact, they have probably not been exposed to any independent 9/11 research at all. Because the number of respondents who support a new investigation of 9/11 (45%)) is roughly the same as the number who knew about the collapse of Building 7 (52%), it can reasonably be extrapolated that if the entire public were exposed to independent 9/11 research, about 90 percent would support a new investigation of the events of that fateful day.)

Survey Methodology: Zogby America, 5/12/06 through 5/16/06

This is a telephone survey of adults nationwide conducted by Zogby International. The target sample is 1,200 interviews with approximately 81 questions asked. The Towers' Concrete Was Pulverized in Mid-Air

Photographs and videos document dense clouds of pulverized concrete dust being ejected from the towers within the first seconds of the collapses. That these thick opaque light-colored clouds carried the bulk of the floor-slab concrete is verified by the composition and fallout pattern of dust around Ground Zero.



Within the first few seconds of the collapses, the motion of the falling top relative to the intact structure was only a few feet per second. Clearly the speed of the falling top relative to the building was insufficient to convert concrete to fine powder.

You can prove this to yourself by dropping a concrete block from a height of, say, 20 feet. The block may break into several pieces, but it will not turn to powder. Even if you were to drop a piece of concrete from the height of the towers -- 1360 feet -- it would not turn to powder when it hit the ground.

I think i may just try this experiment. If i do i'll post pics of the results.

WASHINGTON -- Security experts and airline officials agree privately that the simultaneous hijacking of four jetliners was an "inside job," probably indicating complicity beyond malfeasance. This makes all the more ominous Tuesday's national catastrophe and its dismal consequences. Nobody was more vigorous Tuesday in demanding tough military reprisal against the terrorists than former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger. However, he was virtually alone in directing his rage not only at the assassins but also at security arrangements. "I thought we had solved that problem (of air skyjackings)," he said. He pointed out that effective airport security would have prevented the disaster that may exceed the 2,403 deaths in the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The analogy with the Japanese surprise attack was drawn endlessly by political leaders and journalists. Former Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, with a keen sense of history, disagreed: "This, after all, was not Pearl Harbor. We have not lost the Pacific fleet." Unlike Dec. 7, 1941, the second day of infamy was not perpetrated by an enemy that at that time was militarily superior and seemed to put this nation's very existence in question. In the rage and mourning following Tuesday's disaster, few officials wanted to dwell on how a 10-year hiatus of airline hijackings in this country could be followed by four in one hour. At a minimum, the blame can be put on ill-trained, incompetent personnel performing the screening of passengers. At the worst, security experts fear collusion with the terrorists, possibly even extending to the cockpit. This is a subject that the airlines are loathe to discuss. The immediate consequence, widely predicted by members of Congress, will be tighter security making life more difficult for airline travelers and other Americans. The instant security measures taken in Washington and around the country came after the greatest terrorist success in world history had run its course and would not have been effective in preventing disaster had it been put in place. Of greater interest to members of congressional intelligence committees is the surprise element of the attacks. The CIA and FBI are internally at a low point of effectiveness. "Human intelligence" (spying) has been in decline for decades. No amount of security harassment of airline passengers will substitute for effective intelligence. Like Pearl Harbor, the lack of warning Sept. 11 will be investigated. Unlike Pearl Harbor, however, there is no clear foe. While secret briefings of members of Congress point to Osama bin Laden as the source of the attacks, President Bush's Tuesday night address to the nation named no names. The government, at this writing, actually is not sure. Private sources indicate that the terrorists could be a splinter group of Osama, its identity and whereabouts as yet unknown. An attack on Afghanistan for sheltering Osama's terrorists will put the United States in danger of being perceived, however incorrectly, as launching a holy war against Islam. There is strong sentiment in Congress for hitting somebody, somewhere who has unsavory terrorist credentials even if not connected with Tuesday's attack. With a crippled CIA unable to target the assassins, the Bush administration seems headed to deliver the same kind of hammer blows that the Clinton administration used in the Kosovo war rather than surgical strikes aimed at the assassins. Perhaps the biggest difference with Pearl Harbor is the cause of the conflict. Bush's eloquent call for unity talked of the need to "defend freedom." Unlike Nazi Germany's and Imperial Japan's drive for a new world order, however, the hatred toward the U.S. by the terrorists is an extension of its hatred of Israel rather than world dominion. Secretary of State Colin Powell's laudable efforts at being an even-handed peacemaker makes no difference to terrorists. Stratfor.com, the private intelligence company, reported Tuesday: "The big winner today, intentionally or not, is the state of Israel." Whatever distance Bush wanted between U.S. and Israeli policy, it was eliminated by terror. The spectacle on television of Palestinian youths and mothers dancing in the streets of East Jerusalem over the slaughter of Americans will not soon be forgotten.[**] The United States and Israel are brought ever closer in a way that cannot improve long-term U.S. policy objectives.
