"I think the process is wrong," said one of them, Harry Hollingsworth, as he left the grand jury room at the federal courthouse in East St. Louis."

"Hollingsworth, the 6th Precinct Democratic committeeman, is one of at least 16 people who have received subpoenas so far this week in what appears to be an investigation into the Nov. 2 election.

Daryl Moore, the 33rd Precinct Democratic committeeman, was more blunt. "That's a bunch of crap," he said, throwing his thumb over his shoulder to point at the grand jury room."

It appears that the FBI subpoenaed all these witnesses to not trade blows but investigate in the most serious manner all the widespread problems, tampering, and whats needed for electoral reform. Despite disagreements on the matter, through nailbiting and fighting our leaders seem to be coming to a simple conclusion: Vote fraud must end, and these elections must end reliance on raising these discrepancies....

Several Democratic precinct committeemen have yet to receive subpoenas in the investigation. Alvin Parks Jr., committeeman for the 36th Precinct, said he wasn't home when servers attempted to deliver a subpoena, but he said he knew one was headed his way.

"I just don't know what they're after," he said. "I'll be looking forward to being in court. I certainly haven't done anything wrong."

very telling statement.

East St. Louis precinct committeemen to testify

In all fairness, theses politicians are under investigation themselves:

"An East St. Louis Democratic Party official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the investigation involved money that the St. Clair County Democratic Committee distributes among the city's 44 precinct committeemen for get-out-the-vote efforts.

Records on file with the Illinois State Board of Elections show that the county committee gave the East St. Louis Democrats $20,600 for election expenses between Jan. 1 and June 30. In that period, the county Democrats made additional payments to individual East St. Louis precinct committeemen, totaling more than $22,000.

But the bulk of the money typically comes in much closer to Election Day. Records through Nov. 2 aren't due until late January.

The party official claimed the money was used to finance door-to-door canvassing, telephone banks and the printing of campaign literature. Some committeemen reimburse themselves for out-of-pocket expenditures they incur over the course of a four-year election cycle, the official said, such as delivering food to the elderly or helping constituents find jobs."
