Some Supreme Court cases still to be decided.

GUANTANAMO TRIALS: Whether President Bush has overstepped his authority with war-crimes trials for foreigners held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. (Argued March 28).

DEATH PENALTY-DNA: When do death row inmates get a chance to reopen their appeals with newly discovered evidence like DNA. (Argued Jan. 11).

LETHAL INJECTION: Whether death row inmates can file last-minute civil rights lawsuits to challenge lethal injection as cruel and unusual punishment. (Argued April 26).

TEXAS REDISTRICTING: Whether to throw out all or part of a 2003 congressional map promoted by former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. (Argued March 1).

INSANITY: Whether to strike down Arizona's insanity defense law, in an appeal brought on behalf of a schizophrenic teenager who killed a police officer. (Argued April 19).

CAMPAIGN FINANCE: If Vermont and other states can limit how much money is spent in political campaigns. (Argued Feb. 28).

WETLANDS: Clarification of the extent of protections under the Clean Water Act, in three cases. (Argued Feb. 21).

TAX BREAKS: When to allow lucrative tax breaks for businesses as incentives to expand or move operations into certain cities or states. (Argued March 1).

POLICE SEARCHES: Whether police can use evidence seized after they go to a house to execute a search warrant but don't bother to knock. (Being reargued May 18 so new Justice Samuel Alito can participate).

911 STATEMENTS: If statements made by victims to 911 operators and officers at crime scenes should be barred as evidence because they were not made under oath or subjected to cross-examination. (Argued March 20).

UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS: Whether a federal racketeering law can be used against company accused of hiring hundreds of illegal immigrants to suppress worker wages. (Argued April 26).

E-BAY: A debate over the rights of inventors, in a dispute between eBay and a small Virginia patent holder. (Argued March 29).

FOREIGN SUSPECTS: If two foreigners convicted of violent crimes in the United States have to be given new trials because police did not tell them they could seek legal help from their countries' governments, as required by a 1969 treaty. (Argued March 29).
