"Personal message from Jeff Fisher to me"

QUOTE
"John,

They hacked into my site. I can't access it.

They are playing hardball. I need help with this problem.  The bastards will
not win. I will continue to tell the truth.

Jeff Fisher

spread the word about what they have done."

Their site has been hacked! Everyone spread the word please and find out what's going on, they raided the site so thats why the links no longer work! Right after they finished the new design now its been hacked by guess who...Guys whoever can mail this to some local FBI law enforcers, and other investigators please do so they can no longer update the site.

Check the contact links all over the page- None of them work! Only the two pages they were able to put up before the site was hacked down. They can't even access their files anymore, this is not good.

Why dont they contact the system administrator and reset the account? I'm sorry but if Jeff didn't have the foresight to back up his files, after everything he's been investigating, he needs his head checked.

You can't do that with simple websites like that, resetting the account can take up to 48 hours. It wouldn't be of any help at all. Enough people call that number though they can be caught, and before anymore damage is done.(The hacker leaves footprints right on the official's computer)

Hackers aren't stupid but most of them are clumsy anyway. On any typical computer you can use NETSTAT which brings up a log file of all the IP addresses hooking in and out and so you can trace just about anybody. The full log file for the whole entire year can't be brought up on a PC normally though, you have to crack it open.

Anyone who wants to verify the email me and others got leave your address here and I will forward it right away, happened tonight at 10:00 PM!

Looks to me

like he just needs to get his webmaster to clean up the links on the front page. A lot of them point to files on his desktop rather than the server (file:///c). Others crap out because the server is case-sensitive and they're pointing to a folder that doesn't exist (campaign2006 instead of Campaign2006).

Hehehehehe
There's 2 Problems.

1. He has his file settings to be case sensitive.
#The below works (notice the uppercase 'C')
http://www.jefffisherforcongress.com/Campa...rRalphNader.htm

#The below doesn't work (notice the lowercase 'c')
http://www.jefffisherforcongress.com/campa...rralphnader.htm

2. He's linking to files that are pathed to his local machine.

Funny.

I no longer believe Mr. Fisher and his group are paranoid, I believe they are very close to some ugly stuff and serious things going on here.

I can see there is no doubt what these monsters will do to ensure killing democracy, that is not in dispute what they are capable of. However I do think he is over reacting as always, that some people do occasionally do. But people who are witnesses of this are clearly in great danger. These people are not organized enough to be efficiently dangerous, but they do kill, however with the help of the people their ignorance can be exploited.

So far all the real criminals have been stupid in leaving tracks out in the open...I think we can help Fisher, Rogers and the rest by keeping this story open and kicking our way through to democracy, by forwarding this information to everyone we know concerned for the future.

Yes, you can. I run a "simple" (ie one that doesn't use heavy flash or much else past basic coding) website and often get immediate help from my webhost. Jeff needs to contact his host. And if they can't help, then he can change to another host on another server. But this can be fixed within hours.

Calling the FBI, on the other hand, CAN take days.......... and that assumes they pay enough attention to investigate. What are we supposed to tell them that will get attention???? That a website has been hacked????? That happens all the time, and it's not huge news or something they'll care about.

I dunno, but I'm starting to get a weird feeling from this Jeff guy. If he has facts, then bring them out already. But this??? It gets weirder and weirder every day. And I say this as someone who thinks the election was rigged.

If your ISP isn't backing up your website, it's time to get a new ISP. I believe federal law requires this action just in case one of their customers does something suspicous and there is a need to have a copy of the offending document/code for evidence.

That said, everything I have on my website, and it's nothing earthshattering, more of a family photo album, is backed up on my system. I'm sure Jeff must have copies of everything he posted on his website, on his hard drive and hopefully backed up on disk.

It is simply a matter of backing up your code so you can throw it out there again.

I also see blackboxvoting.org is down again. Have they moved to their new server yet or could it be they are simply down for an update of information?

Hacking is not unusual, it could be as benign as too many hits or someone who is angry at them for posting what the individual feels constitutes "lies." It could be a nefarious as a Rovian plot to keep the information out of the way of public viewing. While hacking is not unsual, there are ways to keep your site from being hacked, unfortunately the best methods cost major dollars.

Ya. This person has hit the head right on the nail. smile.gif

I, too, found a lot of instances where he is linking to files on his local drive.

This is not a *hack job*. If a hacker gets into your site, they would likely just delete the files, or even just delete the links entirely.
