This is a personal opinion but was the towers in New York a greater tragedy then the Federal Building in Oklahoma?
Were the people jumping out of windows in New York towers a greater tragedy then children being thrown or jumping out of Apartment House fires?
Tragedy will always occur. We need to be prepared which is more important then acting out revenge.
I have been looking through our governments actions since 9/11 and I am dismayed how 9/11 has been exhausted and utilized to invoke patriotism as well as declaration of unpatriotic behavior.
Do not be mistaken a friend of mine whose father and my father were best friends growing up in Council Bluffs, Iowa died in the towers.
I had renewed our friendship during the campaign for President of Robert Kennedy in Omaha, Ne.
I had the good fortune as a teenager to meet Bobby Kennedy and to deal with his family during the campaign.
When he was shot my father was devastated and after attending Robert Kennedy's funeral at a State convention died only eight days after Bobby.
To me that will always be the greatest tragedy of my life. That experience made me political and yes patriotic. I consider myself liberal with some life facts causing some stubborn (conservative or cynical attitudes) ; raising my children in a discriminatory society working three jobs to support them and always making 50 to 100 dollars to much for earned income credits.
What is tragic ? Each man woman and child would define it differently.
9/11 is a collective act that happened as millions watched but is not enough to define goverment and laws. 9/11 was a lucky break for this administration and the continued actions siting 9/11 as a basis is a goverment and corporate lie.

To quote Joe Stalin, "One death is a tragedy, one million deaths is a statistic."

And didn't the Bush administration fall into the terrorist trap? Or even more venally - rode the issue to implement long held goals. And haven't the terrorists accomplished their mission if it were to demolish the financial power the USA was exerting over global affairs?
Look where our national financial status is now - for clearer view - try this website.

Reference to a conspiracy is demeaning the loss off life. My goal was not to do that but to express my need for intelligent thought and attitudes.

In re-reading to catch up I ended back here. It is tragically funny to see the Bush directive leading the world down a hateful path again.
As Israel fights Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah on Lebanon boarder I realize that Bush is ya ha in the white house.
Axis of evil and never ending war are daily reinforced.
I guess when you put it out there that is what you will get.
Well I do know that the extremist in all major religions; Christianity or Muslim are leading us to an abyss.
The extremist win and common sense and common ground loose. We need to get everyone to the poles to vote and find candidates who refuse to condone world madness.
George Bush directives started mistrust and a war and now the whole world is crying.
